Itinerary

Day 1

Join your coach this morning and relax on board as you head for Derbyshire and the Peak District, to arrive in the quaint market town of Bakewell, home to the world famous Pudding. Think of the Peak District and Bakewell is likely to spring to mind. With many historic buildings, attractive courtyards, independent shops and cafés, and a location on the River Wye, it’s no wonder the town is such a popular destination. But for many people, Bakewell means the confection named after the town. In the 19th century a cook at the Rutland Arms in the town was baking a jam tart. A misunderstanding over the recipe resulted in the now famous Bakewell Pudding. Most visitors to the town sample this culinary delight, as well as its sister confection, the similar, but different, Bakewell Tart.

Rejoin your coach and head for your comfortable, modern hotel where there will be time to settle in and relax before your included evening meal.

Day 2

After a tasty breakfast this morning it is time to head for the beautiful Peak District National Park with time to take in the dramatic scenery it is so famous for. It is one of the UK's most visited national park with a treasured landscape of outstanding natural beauty. Travel through charming villages, each offering its own unique charm and character. Wind through winding country roads, passing by quaint cottages, rolling hills, and verdant meadows. We will include a stop in the historic town of Buxton, renowned for its natural springs and elegant architecture. Enjoy time to explore the town's highlights, including the majestic Buxton Crescent, the scenic Pavilion Gardens, and the iconic Buxton Opera House. Other highlights include the Snake Pass over the north peaks and Ladybower Reservoir used by “The Dambusters”. Our route may vary subject to road and weather conditions.

Day 3

After a good night's sleep and a hearty breakfast it is time to say farewell to your hotel. We have one last treat in store as we head to to Lichfield, one of England’s most beautiful towns, nestled in the heart of Staffordshire, with its rich tapestry of history, culture, and architectural splendour. The awe-inspiring Lichfield Cathedral is a masterpiece of Gothic architecture dating back over 800 years, and the only medieval cathedral anywhere to have three spires! Marvel at the soaring spires, intricate stained glass windows, and serene cloisters.

Enjoy free time to do as you please before rejoining your coach later and relax as you head home.
