The cathedral city of Worcester is located on the River Severn, in the county of Worcester, Internationally renowned for its sauce and Royal Worcester fine china, this ancient city has retained much of its heritage and is a popular visitor destination with numerous historic buildings and attractions. Most notable amongst these is the magnificent 11th-century cathedral itself which dominates the skyline and which houses the remains of King John. Crowngate Worcester is a shopping centre in Worcester built in part on the historic site of the Worcester Blackfriars monastery, and replacing the former Blackfriars shopping centre. It contains forty-nine stores, with a range of both large and smaller units.
