Day 1 Morning departure to Dover for the crossing to Calais/Dunkirk and on to Valkenburg for a four night stay.

Days 2 to 4 A free day to relax in Valkenburg. The first part of the day will include a guided train tour of the prehistoric municipal cave in the centre of town. Then time is your own to explore its many shops or take the chair lift to the Wilhelmina Tower for fabulous views across the town.

We have also included the following excursions:

• Enjoy a day across the border in Germany at the picturesque town of Monschau. With its dramatic setting, timber-framed shops and pavement cafés with time to visit one of the town’s museums. During the day you will visit the Mustard Mill for a guided tour of the mill which has been producing mustard by hand since 1882.

• A visit to Vaalserberg, a hill located at the point where the countries of Belgium, Holland and Germany converge, accessed via the nearby town of Vaals. It is a well-known tourist attraction with a tower, a maze and restaurant on site. Afterwards you will continue to Aachen in Germany where the main attraction is the cathedral, which was the first UNESCO World Heritage Site, the historic town hall and the Elisenbrunnen with its two pavilions and fountains of thermal waters. Time for lunch and explore before returning to the hotel.

Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey
