  • DAY 1 UK/Rome
  • You'll fly to Rome today, where on arrival we'll transfer you to your hotel. Your base for the next five nights is located in the heart of the city, close to many attractions including the iconic Colosseum. After you've settled into your room, why not head out and soak up some of the sights before returning to the hotel for dinner. 
  • DAY 2 Ancient Rome
  • After breakfast today you'll get to see some of Rome's most historic sights on a panoramic tour. You'll pass by the city's most famous landmark, the magnificent Colosseum, where in the 1st century gladiators would embark on bloody battles for public entertainment. Another spectacular highlight is the Roman Forum, around which ancient Rome was built. The rest of the day is free for you to spend as you wish.
  • DAY 3 Christmas Eve Renaissance Rome
  • You'll get to see even more of Rome today on a walking tour with an expert Local Guide. They will bring the city's history roaring to life as you stroll past famous attractions including the Spanish Steps, which join the Piazza di Spagna with the Church of Trinita dei Monti. You'll also see the incredibly ornate Trevi Fountain before enjoying some free time to explore further at your own pace. Back at the hotel a festive evening is planned in the shape of a special Christmas Eve dinner including wine.
  • DAY 4 Christmas Day The Vatican City
  • It's Christmas Day, and you're going to enjoy a really special experience this morning which will make this a Christmas to remember. You'll head to St Peter's Square in the Vatican City, to join the crowds who have gathered to hear the Urbi et Orbi message delivered by Pope Francis from the balcony of St Peter's Basilica. After hearing the pontiff's blessing for the world and soaking up what is sure to be a truly magical atmosphere, you'll return to the hotel. The festive celebrations continue as you are served Christmas lunch with wine and mince pies. Spend the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying your hotel's facilities.
  • DAY 5 Boxing Day Villa d'Este
  • Today has been left free for you to spend just as you please. You might choose to discover more of Rome's highlights at your own pace. As an alternative, you might choose to join an optional half-day trip to the Villa D'Este. In the company of your Tour Manager you'll explore this 16th century villa, which is located in the hilltop town of Tivoli. It is most famous for its Italian Renaissance garden, where you'll see a beautiful collection of fountains and sculptures.
  • DAY 6 Rome/UK
  • ​Today we'll transfer you to the airport for your flight back to the UK.​
