Itinerary

  • DAY 1 Chesford Grange
  • Make your own way to your hotel in Kenilworth, in the heart of the Warwickshire countryside. After settling into your room, perhaps take a stroll amongst the 17 acres of private grounds and woodland that surround your hotel or make full use of the complimentary facilities in the leisure club. You're invited to the bar later to enjoy a welcome drink before dinner in the hotel's restaurant.
  • DAY 2 Christmas Eve Stratford-upon-Avon
  • A hearty breakfast will set you up for a day of exploration in historic Stratford-upon-Avon. This medieval town was the birthplace of renowned playwright William Shakespeare and is particularly delightful to explore when it is decorated for Christmas. First stop on your included tour is Shakespeare's birthplace, a low-ceilinged, half-timbered house. Inside you can enter the parlour, hall, workshop and bedchambers, all of which are furnished as they would have been back in the 16th century. In this wonderful setting you'll also enjoy a glass of mulled wine to get you in the festive spirit. We'll then take a walk along the promenade next to the River Avon to see the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and Holy Trinity Church, where Shakespeare is buried. Your tour comes to an end at Anne Hathaway's Cottage. This thatched farmhouse, where the young Shakespeare courted his future bride, contains many original items of furniture. Tonight, after dinner you may choose to make your way to the local church to attend Midnight Mass. If you do, you'll return to find a warming hot chocolate waiting for you.
  • DAY 3 Christmas Day Chesford Grange
  • Why not start Christmas Day with a morning walk in the hotel's lovely grounds before breakfast, or perhaps take a dip in the indoor swimming pool. Later, a glass of mulled wine will be served before you enjoy a traditional Christmas lunch with all the trimmings. After an afternoon at leisure, the day's festivities conclude with a buffet this evening.
  • DAY 4 Boxing Day Warwick Castle
  • Join your Tour Manager this morning on an included trip to Warwick Castle, built in 1068 on the orders of William the Conqueror. You can journey back more than 1,000 years as you wander along the battlements and explore the interior of one of the most complete medieval fortresses in Britain. Entertainment is also put on in the grounds of the castle too, with the incredible birds of prey display one of its most popular highlights. Your festive break comes to an end with a farewell drink and gala dinner with live music at your hotel this evening.
  • DAY 5 Chesford Grange
  • After a leisurely breakfast, it's time to check out of the hotel and make your way home.
