From Whitby there are a plethora of spectacular walks to enjoy – to the north there’s the North Yorkshire & Cleveland Heritage Coast, to the south you have beautiful Robin Hood’s Bay and inland you have the beautiful North York Moors National Park – whichever way you choose to turn you’ll be rewarded with some of the finest stretches of walking routes with a lovely Yorkshire welcome where ever you choose to rest!

You’ll spend the next three days in and around Whitby. Explore independently with your included pack of walks and enjoy a packed lunch each day! You'll discover The Cinder Track and Robin Hood's Bay, the steps to Whitby Abbey and the quintessential Yorkshire village of Goathland. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)


Time to say goodbye today, after a delicious cooked breakfast at the hotel you’ll check out and get back aboard your luxury coach for the journey home. (Breakfast)

Whitby is undoubtedly one of the finest seaside resorts in the entire country and you can stay close to the beautiful town centre with us at the Royal Hotel.

With its pretty harbour and quaint riverside buildings, Whitby is the kind of town you could spend your whole holiday simply wandering around and enjoying the fantastic atmosphere. There is a huge amount to do in Whitby including visiting Whitby Abbey and discovering the town’s history - it is the birthplace of Captain Cook and setting of Dracula.

Travel just outside of town and you will be in the stunning North Yorkshire Moors. Take a train into the heart of this region or hop on the bus and take in ‘Britain’s most scenic bus route’.

In the hotel you can enjoy tasty breakfast, midday and evening meals before enjoy an after meal drink in the scenic bar and lounge. You can also experience fantastic evening entertainment in the hotel’s modern ballroom.

Goathland Walk - Optional

This walk takes you into and around the stunning North Yorkshire Moors village of Goathland. The village is famous for a number of reasons, primarily it was used as the setting of fictional Aidensfield in TV show Heartbeat, with a number of the villages buildings being recognisable as locations in the show. You can see why, with sheep grazing on the village green giving the place a traditional rural feel. It has also been used as a filming location in the Harry Potter series. Getting to a from the village is a superb journey in it's own right, either aboard the North Yorkshire Moors Railway or the Coastliner bus, known as the most scenic bus route in the country.

Whitby & the 199 steps - Optional

Whitby is one of the most atmospheric towns in Britain and it's easy to see why Bram Stoker as inspired to set part of his classic, Dracula here. Explore this historic seaside town on our town walk which takes in the beautiful beach, some of the town's interesting sights as well as clibing the 199 steps towards St Mary's Church and the ruined Abbey.

Robin Hood's Bay - Optional

Follow part of the Cinder Track, the disused railway track which runs from Whitby right through to Scarborough. This woodland path crosses high above the River Esk over the Larpool Viaduct where you can look back to Whitby for glorious views of the Abbey and the Bay Royal Hotel in the distance. Once across the main Whitby to Scarborough road, the view opens up as the path leads towards the cliffs above the Cleveland Way and on into the pretty village of Robin Hood's Bay.
