Experience some of the most beguiling cities of Holland, Belgium and Germany on one relaxing river cruise aboard the MS A-ROSA AQUA. Although, all unique in their own way, the one thing these exciting destinations have in common is a colourful past having successfully combined with a dynamic present.

Day 1: Embark in Cologne, cruise to Antwerp
We join the MS A-Rosa AQUA in Cologne and commence our overnight cruise to Antwerp. (Dinner)
Day 2: Antwerp
Following a morning sailing we reach Antwerp by mid afternoon. This lively port city is known as the world capital of diamonds and boasts a rich cultural past. It is a delight for art lovers and was the home of the famous artist Rubens, whose many works and influence can be found throughout the city including the Rubenshuis and impressive cathedral. The Grote Markt is seen as the historic heart of Antwerp, surrounded by finely restored guide houses and lined with an assortment of restaurants and bars where you can sample one of the many renowned Belgian beers or local jenever. We moor overnight in Antwerp. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 3: Antwerp to Rotterdam
This morning enjoy a half day excursion to medieval Bruges, where you can join an optional guided walking tour. The charm of Bruges is in its historic houses and pretty canals that encircle the middle of town; and we’ll explore these beautiful examples of centuries old buildings. We’ll also see the city’s two most famous sights, the Church of Our Lady, with the second largest brickwork church tower in the world and the Market Square, including the 12th century Belfry. Early evening we depart Antwerp and continue our cruise overnight to Rotterdam. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 4: Rotterdam to Amsterdam
We arrive in Rotterdam this morning. Discover the attractions of this large port, which was almost completely rebuilt after the Second World War and today is a thriving, modern city. Take a walk around the Makthal, the large indoor food market which is set in a modern hall among modern architecture. The city also has a number of fantastic museums based on art, photography, chess and natural history. During the evening we commence our overnight cruise to Amsterdam. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 5: Amsterdam (New Years Eve)
We arrive in Amsterdam in the early morning. Spend the day at leisure and enjoy a stroll along the pretty canals lined with hump back bridges, admire the beautiful buildings or visit some of the world-famous museums, including the Anne Frank House and the stunning Rijksmuseum. This evening enjoy a New Year gala buffet dinner, magic show and party night. There will be music and dancing on board until the early hours. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 6: Amsterdam to Cologne
Happy New Year! Enjoy a day cruising back through Dutch canals and the Rhine River to our final port of call at Cologne. During the day you can enjoy a breakfast buffet and New Year’s brunch, live coverage of the New Year’s concert and a raffle with the captain and tour manager. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 7: Disembark in Cologne
We arrive in Cologne early morning where we disembark and travel home. (Breakfast)
Medieval Bruges Guided Walking Tour - Optional
Join us on our excursion to Bruges, one of the best-preserved medieval cities in all of Europe. Bruges' historical city centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with its grand old buildings, meandering narrow cobbled streets and beautiful canals lined with cafes and bars. During our guided walking tour of this fascinating city we see the 'Minnewater', local legend tells the story of the tragic romance of Minna and her warrior love Stromberg saying that you will experience eternal love if you walk over the lake bridge with your partner. We continue to the impressive Beguinage, with its whitewashed house fronts and tranquil convent garden, the Church of our Lady; the 122 metres high brick tower is a perfect illustration of the craftsmanship of Bruges’ artisans. The church displays a valuable art collection: Michelangelo’s world-famous Madonna and Child (entrance fee not included). We also visit Market Square with its frietkoten's and the statues of Jan Breydel and Pieter de Coninck. The square is overlooked by the famous Belfry, the towers stands at 83 metres tall and offers breathtaking panoramic views.
