Pretty St Mawes will make the ideal place to stay during our delightful holiday. We’ll stay at the Ship and Castle Hotel, which is located in the centre of the town and overlooks the attractive harbour. From this excellent Coast and Country hotel, we’ll be able to explore Cornwall’s stunning countryside, in order to discover its beautiful landscape.
We’ll begin with a trip to the famous Eden Project visitor attraction. Known for containing the largest jungle in captivity, and for its amazing collection of plants from all over the planet, the Eden Project will provide us with an incredible look at some of the world’s most exotic plants.
After this, we’ll make our way to the Lost Gardens of Heligan, found in Mevagissey. One of the UK’s most popular botanical gardens, the Lost Gardens date from the mid-18th century and contain a number of areas dedicated to different types of gardening.
As well as all of this, we’ll also have free time to explore St Mawes at leisure, so we can enjoy this charming town during our stay.

Day 1: Home to St Mawes
Your break starts today as you travel to St Mawes by luxury coach. Our coaches are a relaxing way to start your trip, as you’ll enjoy a large amount of legroom to stretch out and let beautiful British countryside pass you by. Tuck into a delicious evening meal on arrival and after check-in. (Dinner)
Days 2 to 4: St Mawes
We spend three days in the beautiful seaside village of St Mawes, with two included excursions to discover some of the most beautiful gardens in Cornwall.
You'll discover a diverse selection of plants from across the world on our trip to the Eden Project. Thousands of different species are housed in two biomes which recreate the temperatures and climates of their natural habitat.
We also visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan, where you can enjoy various garden types including, the Italian Garden, the Jungle Garden and the Vegetable Garden.
The other day is free for you to enjoy at leisure, there are a number of walking trails that pass St Mawes and follow dramatic coastline, often leading to beautiful beaches. Falmouth is also only 20 minutes away via a ferry which leaves from just outside the hotel. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day 5: St Maws to Home
Time to say goodbye today, after a delicious cooked breakfast at the hotel you’ll check out and get back aboard your luxury coach for the journey home. (Breakfast)
Ship and Castle Hotel

The Ship & Castle occupies an enviable position right on the harbour of the sleepy Cornish coastal village of St Mawes with views of Carrick Roads and Percuill River.
At the other side of the village is St Mawes Castle which is at the perfect spot for views over the coast to Pendennis Castle in Falmouth. From St Mawes you will be in a magnificent place to explore the Roseland Peninsula which has a number of beautiful walking trails along the coast.
Taking the ferry across Carrick Roads to Falmouth there are a number of great attractions in town to enjoy including Falmouth Art Gallery and the National Maritime Museum Cornwall. You can pick up the South West Coast Path in town to take in the Lizard Heritage Coast which is a stunning mix of green hills and dramatic seaside cliffs.
Inside the hotel is the perfect place to relax, with fantastic views so why not grab a bottle of wine in the lounge and look out at the boats on the harbour as the sunsets after a busy day?Back to top
Full Day Eden Project and Charlestown - Included
Full day calling at Charlestown and continuing on to visit the magnificent Eden Project. Experience the sights, smells, and scale of the rainforests in the Rainforest Biome, amble amongst orange and lemon trees in the Mediterranean Biome and in the 30-acre Outdoor Garden discover a wide-variety of plants that flourish in the Cornish sunshine.
Half Day Lost Gardens of Heligan - Included
