Historic Whitby is an ideal touring base from which to discover the delights of the North York Moors and Yorkshire Coast. Take to the tracks aboard the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, discovering the Esk Valley through the North York Moors, with a visit to Scarborough also included!

With its pretty harbour and quaint riverside buildings, Whitby is the kind of town you could spend your whole holiday simply wandering around and enjoying the fantastic atmosphere. There is a huge amount to do in Whitby including visiting Whitby Abbey and discovering the town’s history - it is the birthplace of Captain Cook and setting of Dracula.
Travel just outside of town and you will be in the stunning North Yorkshire Moors. Take a train into the heart of this region or hop on the bus and take in ‘Britain’s most scenic bus route’.
