The Edinburgh Tattoo is one of the largest military shows in the world. 9000 people pack the stands in front of the castle at the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town every night during August. Given its Royal title by the Queen in 2010 to celebrate its 60th anniversary, 65,000 Scots and roughly 75,000 people from the rest of the UK and more than 70,000 international visitors see the Tattoo every year. 100 million people more across 40 countries tune in to view the Tattoo on TV.

Fly to Edinburgh from your regional airport where you will be collected and transferred to the Bay Waverley Castle Hotel, Melrose. After check in at the hotel you’ll have free time to relax and enjoy a delicious three-course evening meal. (Dinner)


You’ll spend the next three days in and around Melrose and explore on your included excursions plus time at leisure to discover the town itself. Included excursions are a trip to Edinburgh for the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo and a visit to Floors Castle. (Breakfast, Dinner)


Time to say goodbye today, after a delicious cooked breakfast at the hotel you’ll check out and be transferred back to Inverness airport for your return flight home. (Breakfast)

Looking a little further afield the fantastic cities of Glasgow, Edinburgh and Newcastle are all within easy reach. All three cities have a fascinating history to discover and stunning architecture to enjoy, each providing its own particular culture. For some ancient history head to the border with England and discover the Roman era ruins that surround Hadrian’s Wall which also enjoys stunning views over Northumberland National Park.

The Waverley Castle Hotel is splendidly set in 5 acres of rolling parkland behind which flows the River Tweed. Spend time in the comfortable lounges and bar, enjoy various games, stroll around the grounds and dance the nights away in the entertainment room.

Half Day: Floors Castle - Included

Today we enjoy a visit to beautiful Floors Castle, home of the Duke of Roxburgh, set in stunning countryside. Views overlook the Cheviot Hills, River Tweed and parts of Kelso Abbey. You can also discover the history of the Ker family who have owned the house and land since the 18th Century.

Full Day Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo - Included

Full day to Edinburgh and The Edinburgh Military Tattoo which celebrates over 50 years of music and spectacle, pomp and ceremony, all set in the glowering twilight of stunning Edinburgh Castle.
