The long Easter weekend is the perfect time of year to enjoy a relaxing getaway. Departing on Good Friday and returning on Easter Monday, on our Easter Breaks you can take in the scenic splendours of springtime as you enjoy everything that’s great about a Shearings weekend break. We’ll even treat you to a free Easter gift on Easter Sunday!

This break takes us to the heart of the Highlands and the popular spa town of Strathpeffer. As well as exploring the wonderful countryside around the town, the trip includes an excursion to the Cairngorms, travelling through the beautiful Spey Valley and visiting the beautiful town of Aviemore.

Day 1: Home to Strathpeffer

Leaving this morning you’ll travel to Strathpeffer by luxury coach. All of our coaches feature onboard Wi-Fi, our Roadshow entertainment system and more spacious legroom than many short-haul airlines. After check-in at the Highland Hotel and time to settle into your room, come down to the hotel’s restaurant for a delicious three-course meal. (Dinner)

Days 2 and 3: Strathpeffer

One of the days at Strathpeffer has been set aside for an excursion to the Cairngorm National Park and the town of Aviemore. On our way we will pass through the magnificent Cairngorms, which contain five of the six tallest mountains in Scotland and the beautiful Spey Valley. Aviemore is a beautiful small town amongst the remote backdrop of the rest of the national park, it is a favourite location for hill walkers and has a number of pubs and cafes so you can enjoy a drink in scenic surroundings.


The other day is free for you to enjoy at leisure in the town of Strathpeffer. The nearby Castle Leod and its gardens make for a fantastic day out while golfers interest will be piqued by Strathpeffer Spa Golf Club, one of the most scenic in the UK. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 4: Strathpeffer to Home

It’s our last day! After enjoying a delicious breakfast in the hotel’s restaurant we’ll travel home. Why not start planning your next Shearings break or order a brochure through the Roadshow entertainment system? (Breakfast)

Stay with us in the magnificent Highlands of Scotland in our hotel nestled in a beautiful green glen in the spa town of Strathpeffer.

The town is a great base for exploring the Scottish Highlands, with distinctive architecture and a number of scenic walks in the area including to pretty Rogie Falls. Going a little way out of town, Inverness can be reached in about half an hour by bus or car, in the city there are a number of historical sights to see including the castle and the old high church.

Going further afield take a trip to Dingwall, from where you can hop on a train to the Kyle of Lochalsh or anywhere in between. The route takes in fantastic Highland scenery and has been called one of the most scenic train lines in the country. Loch Ness is also a nearby attraction with plenty of companies offering cruises on the loch for one of the best ways to take in this area of Scotland.

In the hotel there is a traditional feel of a Scottish hunting lodge with wood paneling in the bar and oak beams in the restaurant. So you can enjoy a relaxing drink and a tasty meal in cosy settings while enjoying fantastic Highland hospitality.

Spey Valley and Aviemore - Included

We will go for a scenic drive through the mountains and forests and over the rivers that make up Cairngorm National Park, arriving at the town of Aviemore. The town is popular with hill walkers due to its proximity to Ben Macdui, the second highest mountain in the UK. There are plenty of pubs and cafes in the centre of the town, so enjoying a scenic drink won’t be a problem!
