Ireland is filled with amazing scenery, with picturesque landscapes and wonderful surroundings, and our Cork and Kerry Explorer holiday gives us the chance to explore these wonderful settings for ourselves.

We’ll stay at the West Lodge Hotel, and will spend our time in Ireland exploring this area’s many attractions, while also admiring the wonderful views as we take scenic drives through the countryside.

Our holiday will begin as we travel to the Midleton Distillery, where we’ll take the amazing Jameson Experience to tour this interesting attraction, after which we’ll visit maritime Cobh and will then take the fascinating Titanic Walking Trail.

We’ll then spend time in pretty Kinsale, before visiting Cork city to see the sights. After a day spent at leisure in Cork, we’ll make our way to the little town of Kenmare, and then to the amazing Beara Peninsula, famous for its expansive views and astounding surroundings.

Day 1: Home to North Wales

For travel by coach, we make our way to North Wales for our overnight stay. (Dinner)

Day 2: North Wales to Bantry

We catch and early ferry from Holyhead to Ireland and once on dry land we travel westwards, taking in the scenery of Portlaoise and Cashel on the way to Cork. This is where we spend the next five nights at the West Lodge Hotel, in  Bantry Bay. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 3: Midleton, Cobh & the Titanic Trail

We start with a trip to Midleton, where we discover the heritage at the Jameson Distillery and get to sample one of Ireland’s top tipples. Next we’re off to the historic harbour town of Cobh to enjoy a fascinating ‘Titanic Trail’ walking tour. Cobh was the last port of call of the ill-fated RMS Titanic. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 4: Kinsale & Cork city

Today we head to Kinsale, one of the most fashionable resorts on the west coast of Ireland, and known as the gourmet capital of Ireland. Having retained much of the flavour of its maritime history it’s a great place to visit. We go on to call into bustling Cork city centre for free time to explore before returning to our hotel. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 5: At leisure in Bantry

Today is free to explore at leisure. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 6: Glengarriff, Kenmare and the Beara Peninsula

Today we make our way to the tranquil village of Glengarriff overlooking Bantry Bay before beginning our tour of the lesser-known Beara Peninsula, a beautiful unspoilt area of Ireland. We round the day off with a visit to the heritage town of Kenmare which links this peninsula with the Ring of Kerry. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 7: Bantry to North Wales

Unfortunately our holiday must draw to an end as we retrace our steps back across Ireland to Dublin for our return sailing back to Holyhead. We then stay once more at an overnight hotel in North Wales. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 8: North Wales to Home

We depart this morning and make our way home. (Breakfast)

Full Day: Kenmare And Beara Peninsula - Included

Today, we’ll spend the day exploring Kenmare and the Beara Peninsula. In the small town of Kenmare, which is part of the Ring of Kerry and the Ring of Beara, we’ll find picturesque views, a peaceful atmosphere and one of Ireland’s most interesting histories.

Onwards to the Beara Peninsula, we’ll enjoy a scenic drive through this famous setting. Known for its stunning views over the Caha Mountains and the Slieve Miskish Mountains, Beara is truly a sight for sore eyes.

Full Day: Kinsale and Cork City - Included

The popular port and town of Kinsale is always a treat to visit. With its brightly coloured shops, narrow streets, lively atmosphere and bustling harbour; Kinsale is also one of Ireland’s most historic locations. We’ll spend some time exploring the town, before we journey onwards to Cork City, often referred to as the ‘real capital of Ireland’ by Corkonians.

Cork’s contemporary feel, plus its excellent restaurants, shops and attractions make it a great place to visit, and we’ll be able to find more than enough to do here.

Full Day: Midleton Distillery, Cobh And Titanic Walking Trail - Included

Starting with the Middleton Distillery, we’ll enjoy an interesting tour of this excellent distillery, as well as indulging in a tot of whiskey after our tour - this is a must for whiskey enthusiasts! We’ll then visit Cobh, known for its maritime history. This includes the tragic fate of the RMS Titanic, which was the final port of call for the ill-fated passenger liner in 1912.

We’ll take a moving Titanic Walking Trail tour to discover more about this, taking us through the events of the day the liner departed with help from a specially trained guide.
