Join our holiday and discover three of Germany’s great northern cities. We’ll call at the riverside city of Cologne, dominated by the awesome Gothic cathedral, as well as visiting Dusseldorf, a fashionable metropolis on the Rhine. We’ll stay on the outskirts of Aachen, so there will also be the opportunity to explore this delightful historic spa city.
Whilst staying at our family-run hotel in Aachen, there will also be selected included drinks for us to enjoy in the evenings, so we can relax after a day of sightseeing.
PLEASE NOTE: Price is per person and based on two people sharing a twin/double room. Single room supplements and upgrades are not included.
Day 1: UK to Aachen
We join passengers and make our way across to Calais, arriving this evening in Aachen. Our hosts will prepare a light snack for our supper.
Day 2: Cologne
Today we visit the historic city of Cologne. On our return we enjoy dinner this evening. Tonight and on nights 3 & 4, you will have 4x drinks vouchers each evening to use on selected draught beer, wine & soft drinks between 18.00 and 22.00. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day 3: Aachen
Relax at your leisure or venture into the cathedral city of Aachen. Alternatively, you may choose to join our optional trip to Monschau. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day 4: Dusseldorf
Join our included excursion as we discover the cosmopolitan city of Dusseldorf. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day 5: Aachen to UK
We return to Calais and back to the UK, then onward home. (Breakfast)

Half Day: Monschau - Optional
We head into the scenic Eiffel region to visit the historical town of Monschau. Enjoy a stroll along the winding alleys and take in the beautiful half-timbered houses. This is a charming little town to explore and admire the quaint architecture.
Guided tour of Cologne - Optional
In Cologne, we’ll find one of Germany’s largest cities boasting a unique landscape that’s filled with historic buildings. Our interesting guided walking tour will teach us more about this city’s heritage and take us past some of the key sights, including of course, the magnificent Gothic cathedral.
Guided tour of Dusseldorf - Optional
Join us as we explore Düsseldorf. We head to the Altstadt (Old Town) which was almost completely destroyed during World War 2, but has been painstakingly rebuilt over the years. The Altstadt as more than 260 bars, restaurants, cafés, and breweries making it very popular with tourists and locals alike.
We also see Gothic St. Lambertus church with its twisted tower, the Rider statue of popular elector Jan Wellem, where Heinrich Heine was born, and how tailor Wibbel gained fame. We continue to the Burgplatz (square) with the Schlossturm (palace tower) and From here, it's only a stone's throw to the Rhine promenade- offering a stunning views of Düsseldorf's skyline.
Full Day: Dusseldorf - Included
The vibrant city of Dusseldorf has an exciting mix of traditional buildings, modern architecture and interesting museums for us to discover on our visit today. For shopping, head to the popular Konigsallee pedestrianized street or the fashionable Altstadt. Why not enjoy a stroll along the bustling promenade and watch the ships sailing along the Rhine.
Full Day: Cologne - Included
We visit Cologne with its historic old town and many shops, cafes and restaurants. Do not miss the spectacular Gothic cathedral which dominates the cityscape and both the exterior and interior of this striking building are breathtakingly beautiful.
You may also enjoy a stroll along the riverside promenade, or for shopping, visit the pedestrianised Schildergasse. Cologne also has several museums - from art to perfume and chocolate, there is sure to be something of interest.
