Day 1: Arrive Johannesburg

Upon arrival at the airport, you’ll be transferred to the hotel where you have free time to explore the city, before you meet up with your tour group this evening.

Hotel: Protea Hotel Johannesburg

Day 2: Johannesburg to Mpumalanga

We visit Mpumalanga, in the lush Lowveld region. We travel the Panorama Route, visiting the Blyde River Canyon, one of Africa’s natural wonders.

Continuing to God’s Window, we’ll see glorious views of mountains and fertile plains before visiting Bourke’s Luck Potholes then onward to Hazyview. (Breakfast)

Day 3: Mpumalanga

This morning, we go in search of the Big Five in Kruger National Park in our closed vehicle, we’ll explore this internationally renowned game reserve, with the largest variety of wildlife in Africa. Keep a look out for flora and birds. We return to our hotel. The afternoon is at leisure - perhaps join an optional safari, where you’ll learn about the unique wilderness from a local guide. (Breakfast)

Day 4: Mpumalanga to Swaziland

After breakfast, we proceed south to Malalane and head to Swaziland, this afternoon you will visit a real Chief’s village with a fantastic opportunity to gain an authentic knowledge of traditional Swazi culture. (Breakfast)

Day 5: Swaziland to St Lucia

We travel into Zululand and the Kingdom of KwaZulu-Natal where ancient traditions and modern cultures of both Zulu and Settler have combined. Arrive this afternoon in the Umfolozi area for your overnight stay; join an optional safari into Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park known for its successful white rhino conservation programme. (Breakfast)

Day 6: St Lucia to Durban

This morning choose to take an optional morning game viewing boat cruise or soak up the atmosphere of St Lucia before heading off towards Durban. An orientation tour introduces us to this vibrant seaside city before arriving at our hotel in late afternoon. (Breakfast)

Day 7: Durban to Drakensberg

This morning, we head into the majestic Southern Drakensberg Mountains and enormous Howick Falls, taking the Southern Midlands Meander Route, arriving at our hotel. Your afternoon is at leisure to soak up the surroundings, go fishing, walking or horse riding if you wish. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 8: Drakensberg

Enjoy the day at leisure in the magnificent Southern Drakensberg Mountains. There are many leisure activities at the resort to enjoy, including an optional 4X4 adventure tour into the Kingdom of Lesotho. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 9: Drakensberg to Eastern Cape Coast

We travel to the Eastern Cape, birthplace of Nelson Mandela. En route we see the traditional way of life in the area known as the Transkei, stopping for you to take lunch** outside of Umtata. After visiting Nelson Mandela’s birthplace we arrive at our accommodation on the unspoilt Eastern Cape Coast. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 10: Eastern Cape Coast to Port Elizabeth

Enjoy the morning at leisure unwinding with sand between your toes. The beach stretches on uninterrupted and the dense forest nearby is a haven for an amazing variety of birdlife. We set off heading south to Port Elizabeth. (Breakfast)

Day 11: Port Elizabeth to Knysna

We continue towards the Cape, visiting the Tsitsikamma Forest, with scenic walking

opportunities. A short walk to the Storms River Mouth offers magnificent views of the gorge and river below. Arrive in Knysna, a beautiful town set on a lagoon, in the late afternoon for check in at our hotel. (Breakfast)

Day 12: Knysna – Oudtshoorn – Mossel Bay

We travel over the spectacular Outeniqua Pass to Oudtshoorn, known as the ‘feather capital of the world’ because of its ostrich industry. We visit an ostrich farm and explore the famous Cango Caves, where you’ll be able to walk around the magnificent dripstone formations of stalactites and stalagmites. Overnight in Mossel Bay. (Breakfast)

Day 13: Mossel Bay to Cape Town

On the way to Cape Town, we stop off in Albertinia to visit a well-known aloe factory. Cape Aloe grows wild on many farms and is still harvested in the traditional way. We drive via Swellendam, Worcester and through the Huguenot Tunnel before arriving in Cape Town late afternoon. (Breakfast)

Day 14: Cape Town

Enjoy a day of leisure in Cape Town and explore this beautiful Oceanside city, maybe a stroll on the Victoria & Albert Waterfront? Join one of the optional tours to explore the dramatic coastline of the Cape Peninsula and see *Boulders Beach penguin colony or to the Cape Wine lands to visit the country’s principal wine routes of Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. This evening choose to join us for an evening of song theatre and food at the Kaapse stories dinner theatre. (Breakfast)

Day 15: Cape Town

After breakfast, we’ll check out of the hotel and transfer to the airport for the flight home. (Breakfast)
