Day 2 - 4:
We spend three days in Fort William with two included excursions. We take a drive in the countryside surrounding the town before visiting the Treasures of Earth Exhibition, one of Europe’s largest collections of crystals, gemstones and fossils on our return.
We also visit Glencoe, considered one of the most spectacular and beautiful places in all of Scotland. We also visit Kinlochleven, which sits on the eastern end of fjord-like Loch Leven, surrounded on three sides by colossal mountains.
The other day is for you to enjoy at your leisure. There are a number of activities to enjoy in Fort William, most involve the stunning scenery in and around the town. Stay by the side of Loch Linnhe and soak in the views across the water or if you’re feeling active head up into the countryside around the village for spectacular hillside views.
We return home via the interchange after breakfast and checkout at the hotel.
- Stay right on the shores of Loch Linnhe among some of Britain's highest peaks
- The recently renovated restaurant and bar where you can enjoy spectacular views over the loch in real style
- Take day trips to stunning locations such as the Isle of Skye and Loch Lomond and the Trossachs
If you are looking to discover the magnificence of Scotland with scenic views from the hotel and within easy reach of the best the Highlands and Islands have to offer join us at the Caledonian Hotel.
The hotel is set in seclusion on the shores of Loch Linnhe, just a 10 minute drive from popular Fort William where you can discover Highland history at the West Highland Museum or hop on a loch cruise to take in the landscape from a different perspective. Of course, this area is renowned for the wide choice of fantastic outdoor activities available. If you are feeling particularly active try and tackle Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in Britain which is just outside of town, or follow one of the many more leisurely trails in the area.
Venture out of town and the very best of the Highlands can be accessed on a day trip. A couple of hours drive from Fort William is the stunning Isle of Skye, an isolated island with stunning views from mountainous interiors, rolling green fields and dramatic seaside cliff faces. Or head just over an hour south to explore the bonny, bonny banks of Loch Lomond and the wider magnificence of the Trossachs National Park.
The scenery doesn’t stop at the hotel door, with tremendous views across Loch Linnhe from the hotel’s recently refurbished bar and lounge area. The views continue in the restaurant where you can enjoy breakfast and evening meals daily while enjoying one of Scotland’s greatest landscapes.Back to top
