From the vibrant bustling Brazilian cities like Rio famed for Christ the Redeemer statue and Copacabana beach to the natural phenomenon of the world’s largest tropical rainforest the Amazon National Park. We will get up close to endemic nature, bird-life and wildlife not found anywhere else in the world on our journey to see true nature, culture and local life in Brazil.

Day 1: Arrival in Rio de Janeiro

On arrival at Rio de Janeiro airport, you will be met then transferred to your hotel to meet your tour guide. This evening take the opportunity to explore the area around the hotel, beautiful Copacabana Beach.

Day 2: Rio de Janeiro

We board a cog-train to ascend Corcovado Mountain. Climbing up the stairs at the top of the mountain you’ll reach the iconic statue of Christ the Redeemer and enjoy views over mountains, hills and beaches of Rio. Descending the mountain, we’ll pass Rio’s famous beaches to board a cable car and ascend Sugar Loaf Mountain, high above the sea at Guanabara Bay. Finally, we visit Rio’s city centre including the Sambadrome, site of the famous carnival parade. (Breakfast)

Day 3: Rio de Janeiro

Enjoy a day at leisure and choose to join an optional tour. Tours go to the rainforest city of Petropolis, where you’ll visit the summer palace, cathedral and the city’s old mansions and pretty squares. The second option explores Rio’s recently regenerated seafront, Olympic boulevard, the new port and some of the city’s museums. The final tour takes place in the evening including folklore and carnival dancing, entertainers and samba bands. (Breakfast)

Day 4: Rio de Janeiro to Iguassu Falls

This morning we leave Rio on a flight to Iguassu and transfer to our hotel for check-in. In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Brazilian side of the falls following cascades and a catwalk leading to the bottom of the Devil’s Throat to enjoy magnificent views of the falls. (Breakfast)

Day 5: Iguassu Falls

We visit the Argentinian side of the falls, crossing the dramatic Tancredo Neves Bridge we will arrive at the visitors centre. From there we proceed along the Superior Circuit, taking in the up-river cascades, to the Inferior Circuit where you’ll see the falls, before visiting the best viewing platform of The Devil’s Throat, this time from the other side of the falls. Day 6: Iguassu Falls to Manaus

This morning you can join an optional tour to a bird park where you can get close to the birds as you enter the aviaries. The walking tour goes through a trail of 1000 square meters of native woodland, where you have the opportunity to spot more than 900 tropical birds from 150 species. Afterwards, we transfer to the airport for the flight to Manaus where we transfer to the hotel. Join an optional tour this afternoon to the Amazonas National Resource Institute where you’ll be able to see more than 76 species of animals housed in the ecological park. (Breakfast)

Day 7: Manaus to the Amazon

We transfer by boat along the river to the Amazon Ecopark Lodge. The lodge is set among six miles of spectacular trails exploring the jungle and discovering a massive range of flora and fauna that call the Amazon forest home. Explore the Amazon during various excursions on foot on a jungle trek or by canoe, visit to the Orchid Garden and the lake of the “Quelônios” turtles, go fishing or even take a nighttime canoe tour. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 8: Amazon

We board a double decker boat to do down the Negro River taking in views along the shores of the city of Manaus. We’ll see views of the Amazonas Theatre, the Port of Manaus and observe local life including the stilt houses of the locals. The Meeting of the Waters is the spectacular merge of the Negro and Solimoes rivers whose colours run separately side-by-side for more than three miles before merging to form the main arm of the mighty Amazon River. We return to the Amazon Ecopark for the overnight stay. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 9: Amazon – Manaus – Salvador da Bahia

After breakfast we transfer back to Manaus, on the way we’ll take a tour of the city. We visit Old Manaus, Sao Sebastiao Square and the Floating Harbour and have the chance to make a photo stop at the city’s famous renaissance revival Opera House. (Breakfast)

Day 10: Salvador da Bahia

We transfer to the airport and fly to Salvador da Bahia where we transfer to the hotel. Today we take a historical tour of Salvador, focusing on the centre known as the Pelourinho. A UNESCO world heritage site, the area is made up of centuries old churches and houses. We’ll continue through the neighbourhoods of Corrdor da Vitoria, Campo Grande and the Municipal Square, where you’ll enjoy great views of the lower city and Bay of all saints. Following the tour enjoy the afternoon at leisure or choose to join an optional tour this evening where you can enjoy regional food at a typical restaurant followed by a colourful dance and music show. (Breakfast)

Day 11: Salvador da Bahia

We enjoy a historical city tour and see UNESCO World Heritage Site Pelourinho, Barra neighborhood with its Atlantic Ocean view and Saint Anthony Fort, the first lighthouse in the Americas. Then, stop at the Municipal Square from where you will have a view of the lower city and the Bay of All Saints.  In the evening, join an optional excursion to enjoy regional Bahia food at a typical restaurant followed by a colourful dance and music show presenting Bahia’s rich Afro-Brazilian culture. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Day 12: Flight back from Salvador da Bahia

Following check out at the hotel, transfer to the airport for the flight home. (Breakfast)
