The New Forest is one of the few places in England that can claim to be largely unchanged for almost 1000 years. The National Park is on Bournemouth’s doorstep, and you'll also explore the history of the town on a circular walk and visit pretty Hengistbury Head on your self-guided walks on the South Coast with Shearings!

Today we travel by luxury coach to Bournemouth. Onboard you’ll enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi and Roadshow, our onboard entertainment system. After check-in at the hotel you’ll enjoy a delicious three course evening meal. (Dinner)
Day 2 to Day 4:
You’ll spend the next three days in and around Bournemouth. Explore independently with your included pack of walks and enjoying a packed lunch each day! Your self-guided walks will take you to Hengistbury Head, and on a circular walk of Bournemouth exploring the town and its history. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Time to say goodbye today, after a delicious cooked breakfast at the hotel you’ll check out and get back aboard your luxury coach for the journey home. (Breakfast)

Stay right on the seafront in the beautiful area of Westcliff just a short walk from the beach with an onsite refreshing swimming pool and scenic sun terrace to unwind after a busy day by the sea.
From here, the walk along the seafront is stunning, with golden beaches leading to one of the most fashionable areas of the entire country, the community of Sandbanks. Here you will find fantastic bars and restaurants which is also the case just 5 or ten minutes away from the hotel on the other side in central Bournemouth.
For lovers of the outdoors, staying in Bournemouth really gives you everything, especially for those who are willing to venture a little way out of the town. A number of beautiful areas are available just a short distance away by both car and public transport; these include Cranbourne Chase, the Jurassic Coast and the New Forest among many others.
Inside our pretty Edwardian Hotel why not relax on the sun terrace or chill out in the pool. In the restaurant you can enjoy fantastic and varied menus daily for breakfast and evening meals and snacks and drinks are served throughout the day on the sun terrace.Back to top
Bournemouth to Sandbanks - Optional
A delightful walk along the front with sea views all the way to reach Sandbanks - home to what some would call the best beach on the south coast! From here you could even take the ferry across to Brownsea Island, a haven for wildlife and where Lieutenant-General Baden-Powell tested his ideas for the book Scouting For Boys or take the crossing to pretty Poole!

Bournemouth to Barton on sea - Optional
This walk starts from our hotel, heading straight for the seafront and heading along the coast. From there you'll make it to Hengistbury Head, a nature reserve made up of sand dunes and interesting wildlife. At the end of the headland there is a village made up entirely of beach huts which makes for a colourful and pretty sight. From here you will take a ferry across the harbour. From there you'll pass Highcliffe Castle before reaching Barton on Sea.
Bournemouth Circular Walk - Optional
This is a relatively short walk but will take some time for you to really take in the sights of the town. With 4000 years of history to discover there's plenty to see! Sights along the way include Skerryvore, where Robert Louis Stevenson lived and wrote Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde and Kidnapped, the sea views over Bournemouth pier, Durley Chine, a Bronze Age barrow and the Hotel Miramar where JRR Tolkien was a regular visitor.Back to top
