Cruise along one of Europe’s finest rivers and step ashore to explore fabled towns and cities, including the great capitals of Austria, Slovakia and Hungary. We enjoy a full day in Vienna, whose style and grace inspired the creative genius of classical music’s greatest composers. Then it’s Bratislava, a cultural hotspot with rural charm and the friendliness to match. We finish with a full day in Budapest, where the Danube gives the city its split personality as it cuts through the heart, with ancient Buda on one side of the river and the modern area of Pest on the other. It’s the perfect end to a river cruise that offers new cultures and experiences every day.

Day 1: UK - Nuremberg
We travel by air or rail to Nuremberg and board our ship for a relaxing evening as we cruise along the Danube towards Regensburg.
Day 2: Regensburg
We arrive in Regensburg around breakfast time, which lies at the northernmost point of the Danube. Our optional Danube gorge cruise takes us to Weltenburg Abbey and then in the afternoon we cruise towards Passau.
Day 3: Passau - Linz
Passau is known as the ‘three rivers city’ due to its unique location where the Danube, Inn and Ilz rivers meet. You have free time to explore the old town which has a stunning display of Italian baroque-style architecture. Join us on an optional trip to Mozart’s famed birthplace, Salzburg, we return to the ship in Linz. We reach Linz in the evening where we berth overnight.
Day 4: Melk & Wachau Valley – Vienna
This morning we arrive in the Austrian town of Melk, which is filled with cobbled streets and attractive buildings. It is also overlooked by one of the most splendid monastic houses in Austria – the Benedictine Abbey, which you can visit on our optional excursion. In the afternoon you can relax on deck as we cruise through the Wachau valley, which stretches 24 miles through stunning scenery, with many charming towns, terraced vineyards, castles and monasteries. We reach Vienna in the evening where we berth overnight.
Day 5: Vienna - Bratislava
Spend the morning experiencing the delights of Vienna, capital of Austria and birthplace of classical music. More than 150 grand palaces, over 27 baroque castles, impressive squares and striking monuments are just some of the key features of this magnificent city, whose historic centre is inscribed on the world heritage list. In the morning you can join our optional city tour. This afternoon we cruise over the border into Slovakia, stopping at Bratislava, where you can join our walking tour or spend time exploring the old town which is centred on two squares, with winding streets, a hill top castle and many remarkable building.
Day 6: Budapest
We cruise this morning to Budapest, described as one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Join our optional city tour which introduces you to the highlights on both sides of the river, including the 700-year-old Matthias Church, Parliament building – a magnificent example of neo-gothic architecture, and Buda Castle, which rises 48 metres above the river.
Day 7: Budapest – Munich (Rail) / UK (Air)
This morning we bid farewell to our captain and crew and disembark our ship. Passengers travelling by air will be transferred to the airport for the return flight. Passengers travelling by rail travel to Munich, where we check into our overnight hotel.
Day 8: Munich – UK (Rail)
After breakfast we continue by rail to Brussels where our Eurostar connection returns us to London.
This 4 star ship exudes luxury and style together with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, so you can enjoy an unforgettable cruise experience. Accommodation for 190 passengers is split over three decks which are all accessible by a lift. Excellent service and attention to detail are the priority of the captain and crew who are looking forward to welcoming you on board.
Main Deck cabins on the lower deck feature two small viewing windows, twin beds which are folded away during the day, allowing more space. Amenities include air-conditioning, en suite shower with wc, radio, satellite TV, safe and hairdryer. There is also a small desk and chair. Middle Deck cabins feature large sliding windows, two separate beds that are folded into sofas during the day, giving you space to relax in your cabin during the day. Amenities include air-conditioning, en suite shower with wc, radio, satellite TV, safe and hairdryer. Again there is a small desk and chair. Panorama Deck cabins which are the highest standard cabin aboard the ms Serenity are located on the upper deck and boast a French Balcony offering excellent river views. The cabins feature twin beds that are folded away during the day and amenities include air-conditioning, en suite shower with wc, radio, satellite TV, safe and hairdryer. As with all the other cabins there is a small desk and chair.
The spacious and attractive lounge is located on the main deck and ensures much cosiness on board. It’s a great place to meet your fellow guests and relax as you watch the scenery pass by. Lido Bar A unique feature aboard the ms Serenity is the lovely Lido bar situated to the rear of the Panorama deck which leads out to an outdoor terrace. Here you can sit and enjoy the fresh air whilst socialising over a drink or two!
The spacious Panorama Restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy your included meals, where you are looked after by the highly professional and friendly service team. Meals are served at a single sitting and the menus include international cuisine along with traditional local dishes, freshly prepared by your onboard chef. Sun Deck On the Sun Deck you can enjoy commanding views of the river whilst you relax in comfortable surroundings. The area is equipped with furniture including comfortable lounge chairs and awnings.
