ITINERARY

Day 1: UK – Koblenz
We join our ship in Koblenz and enjoy a relaxing evening.

Day 2: Koblenz – Rüdesheim – Mainz
Cruising upriver through the spectacular Rhine Gorge, we reach the pretty town of Rüdesheim where you can enjoy some free time and savour the special atmosphere. Alternatively, you can join our optional excursion which visits the unique Siegfried’s Mechanical Music Museum and takes you by cable car above the vineyards for panoramic views of the Rhine. We then cruise to the city of Mainz, a region widely regarded as the wine capital of Germany.

Day 3: Mainz – Speyer
We continue upriver and along the Rhine’s broader waters for a late afternoon stop in Speyer. This quaint city is a delight to explore. Our optional walking tour is a great way to make the most of the visit. Our ship stops overnight at Iffezheim.

Day 4: Strasbourg
We set sail in the morning and continue our cruise route over the border into the Alsace region of France. We stop at Strasbourg, a picture-book city whose historic centre is surrounded by the Ill river and filled with beautiful architecture. You are free to explore at leisure, or during the afternoon we are offering a optional excursion, which takes you around the heart of Strasbourg aboard a glass-topped canal cruiser.

Day 5: Strasbourg – Breisach
Cruising through the flatter landscape of the Rhine Plain, we arrive at the small town of Breisach around lunchtime. Here you can join our optional excursion into the beautiful Alsace, stopping at the wine capital of Colmar and the little village of Riquewihr where we enjoy wine tasting at the famous Dopff & Irion vineyard.

Day 6: Breisach – Basel
This morning, as our ship sails to Switzerland, you can venture into the cooler mountain slopes of the Black Forest on our full day optional excursion. We start with a scenic drive which takes us to the must-see destination of Lake Titisee, before we visit the spectacular Rhine Falls – the largest in central Europe. We rejoin our ship in Basel, across the border in northern Switzerland, for a relaxing evening.

Day 7: Basel – Lucerne
After breakfast our included excursion takes you by coach on a route that tunnels through the Jura mountains to the Swiss resort of Lucerne, where you have plenty of time to enjoy the views of mountains and lakes and explore the picturesque old quarter. We return to our ship in Schönau by coach and retrace our route back to Iffezheim for an overnight stop.

Day 8: Mannheim – Mainz
We cruise to the river port of Mannheim where you can join our optional guided excursion to the majestic city of Heidelberg, home of Germany’s oldest university. We return to our ship in Mainz and enjoy a relaxing evening.

Day 9: Mainz – Koblenz
Be sure to settle up on the sun deck for our final day of cruising and take in the magnificent scenery of the Rhine as we cruise to the historic town of Koblenz. You are free to explore at leisure or you can join our optional trip on the Koblenz cable car which leads to the magnificent Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. Our ship stays in Koblenz tonight.

Day 10: Koblenz – UK
This morning we bid farewell to our captain and crew and disembark for the return journey to the UK.

mps Lady Anne

Cruising from season to season, the MPS Lady Anne is exclusively for our customers and has been the essence of our river cruise collection since we first set sail together over 15 years ago.

From the spotless brass furnishings and smart uniform, to the well presented meals and sparkling glassware – Captain Wido runs a tight ship aboard the MPS Lady Anne and the crew’s attention to detail is second to none. Yet the atmosphere is one of relaxation and informality, with smiling faces wherever you look, and that’s what a cruise aboard our flagship is all about.

Bar
This is the heart of the ship, a wonderful space with panoramic windows and plenty of seats for everyone. Sit back on the sofas and admire the scenery as the waiting staff bring your drinks to you, mingle with friends around the tables to talk about the day’s events, take to the dance floor after dinner with music that’ll get everyone’s foot tapping, and enjoy a nightcap at the bar before retiring to your cabin.

Restaurant
If there’s one thing we hear about time and again – it’s the exceptional meals served in the restaurant. This well presented room seats everyone for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Start your day with a fantastic buffet, whether it’s cereal, fruit, yoghurt, cold meats, cheeses, or a traditional cooked breakfast. Lunch is also a wonderful variety of hot and cold dishes and for the evening you can enjoy a four course meal with the waiting staff tending to your every need.
