Itinerary

Description

While the idea of strolling along the River Thames on a warm summer’s evening might sound appealing, hotels in the capital during high season can often come with a hefty price tag so a week in London in August might seem out of the question.

Not so with our great value five-day break in London with accommodation at a centrally-located, 4-star hotel – ideal for exploring this vibrant city! What’s more, our break includes return rail travel, a full English breakfast at your hotel each morning to set you up for your days of sightseeing and shopping. With the chance to visit some of London’s most iconic attractions and Royal Palaces too, this is the perfect city break!

Itinerary

Day 1: Take the train to London. On arrival make your way to the Tower Hotel for check in and free time before your first night’s stay.

Day 2: After breakfast, today is free to explore the sights of London. From a trip on the London Eye to a spot of shopping on Oxford Street or strolling through Hyde Park – there is plenty to do. Or you may like to join our optional excursion to Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament (£55pp). While many people can say that they’ve seen these impressive buildings from the outside, this is the perfect chance to explore them from a new perspective – inside!

Day 3: Choose to join our optional excursion today to Richmond upon Thames and Hampton Court Palace (£35pp). Richmond upon Thames is possibly London’s most attractive borough which has been a retreat for Royalty for many years. We have time at leisure here before visiting Hampton Court, Henry VIII's favourite royal residence. Take in the impressive State Rooms and enjoy a stroll through the beautiful gardens. Alternatively spend the day at leisure in London.

Day 4: There’s a chance to visit Windsor Castle today on our optional excursion (£35pp), the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world and one of the Queen’s official residences. Established in the 11th century by William the Conqueror, it has been remodelled by successive kings and queens and is regularly used for ceremonial and State occasions. The magnificent State Apartments are furnished with some of the finest works of art from the Royal Collection while St George’s Chapel is one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in England.

Day 5: After breakfast, enjoy some more free time in London before making your way to the station for the train home.
