Enjoy a holiday with a difference as we embark on a leisurely cruise through the spectacular scenery of the Rhine and Moselle rivers; some of the most picturesque waterways in Europe. Sit back and relax as we glide through a landscape of scenic valleys and dramatic gorges scattered with romantic hilltop castles, terraced vineyards and delightful riverside towns and villages, stopping to experience the highlights along the way.

Air Itinerary

Check in for your flight. On arrival, you will be transferred to your river cruise ship, the MV Prinses Christina. After time to settle in, you’ll enjoy a welcome cocktail followed by your first dinner on board.

We set sail southwards from Cologne and make the leisurely journey to Andernach, a charming riverside town nestled on the banks of the Rhine. As one of Germany’s oldest towns, it still has remnants of the old town fortifications and is also home to the world’s highest cold water geyser.

We set off in the morning and continue to cruise south on the mighty Rhine to Koblenz, then we change course and sail south-westwards along the tranquil River Moselle and its superb landscape of vineyards, beautiful villages and castles. We arrive in Cochem in the early afternoon, an attractive town with half-timbered houses, winding streets and a flower-bedecked promenade, surrounded by steep vineyards and a magnificent castle that rises dramatically above the town.

From Cochem we sail back along the Moselle to Koblenz and re-join the Rhine, heading south through a beautiful, romantic section of the river before arriving at the town of Boppard, lying in the Rhine Gorge. Once a Roman fort, this ‘Pearl of the Rhine’ is renowned for its fine Riesling wine.

We continue southwards from Boppard to the picturesque town of Rüdesheim. There’ll be time in the afternoon to wander its lovely streets including the charming, cobbled Drosselgasse, packed with wine taverns, restaurants and half-timbered buildings. This is the most southerly town on the cruise.

Today’s cruise heads north from Rüdesheim to Koblenz. Built at the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle rivers, the town is full of historic buildings, cosy lanes and romantic squares, all overlooked by the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress.

During breakfast we sail to Königswinter, where there will be time to explore in the morning if you wish. You could visit the ruins of the 12th-century castle, perched atop Drachenfels Mountain and reached by Germany’s oldest cog railway. Over lunch we cruise back to Cologne, arriving in the mid-afternoon, and you will have some free time to explore before the Captain’s dinner in the evening.

One final breakfast then we disembark from the MV Prinses Christina and transfer to Cologne airport for your flight home.
