Tour de France Finale

Tour de France Finale

Whether you're a cycling enthusiast or casual fan, the Tour de France Finale is a great sporting occasion with a unique atmosphere. Experience the 'grand finale’ of the world’s most famous cycling race as the riders enter Paris after covering a gruelling 3,656 kilometres!

Join the crowds to see the riders race along the banks of the River Seine and past the city’s iconic landmarks before a dramatic sprint to the finish, which also sees overall winner of the coveted yellow jersey crowned.

While the Grand Depart of the Tour de France and the route itself changes every year, the spectacular Champs Élysées always plays host to the spectacular finish. This final stage through the centre of Paris is the most prestigious of the Tour and sees the world’s best sprinters go head-to-head as they fight for the glory of being the first to complete the event.

Traditionally, the final stage starts with champagne served by the race leader's team and riders from all teams sharing a joke to celebrate the fact they have survived the Tour. But as the riders approach Paris, the racing heats up as the cyclists embark on eight laps of the city past the Arc De Triomphe, and the Louvre before heading past the Place de la Concorde to the Champs-Élysées.

You can also show your appreciation to the overall winner, who is traditionally escorted to the finish line with teammates, and see the presentation of the yellow jersey to the winner, the polka dot jersey to the ‘King of the Mountains’ and the green jersey to the Sprint Champion.

Booking with National Holidays is a great way to combine the spectacle of the Tour de France finale with a city break in the French capital, so you don’t need to worry about sorting the coach travel, hotel accommodation or tickets!

Paris

Paris

The enchanting and sophisticated city of Paris, often named the city of lights and love, is one of the most romantic cities in Europe and a wonderful place to explore on a coach holiday.

Beautifully positioned on the River Seine, France’s capital is visited yearly by millions who come to explore the city’s stylish splendour. From history, arts and culture to the more modern attractions, there is plenty to discover.

The city is famous for its gourmet cuisine, impressive monuments and iconic landmarks, including the Gothic Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Louvre, one of the world’s greatest museums. Amazingly, their collection size is so immense it is impossible to see the full wealth of exhibits in just one visit!
Don’t forget to visit the Musée d'Orsay, which holds French art from the 19th century, including paintings, photography, and sculptures.

Prepare to be impressed by the historic Arc de Triomphe, and the beauty of the Château de Versailles, just outside the city centre. The beautiful Sacré Coeur is another of Paris’ must-see iconic monuments. Located in the artistic Montmartre district, the Basilica is perched on the highest point of Paris and offers amazing panoramic views over the rooftops of the city.

A coach trip to Paris wouldn’t be complete without indulging in the famous Parisian atmosphere at one of the traditional bistros and pavement cafés, or a visit to the famous Eiffel Tower, the symbol of Paris. The city is also renowned for its incredible shopping opportunities, from high street stores up to designer chic.

Situated just a short journey from the capital is Disneyland Paris, the perfect place for a family adventure. Step into the fairy-tale world full of magic and meet your favourite characters, experience the fantastic attractions, enjoy the spectacular shows and create special memories to last a lifetime. Bon voyage!
