A lovely three-day break to experience the idyllic delights of the glorious Lake District, along with the rolling landscapes of the magnificent Yorkshire Dales. We enjoy a cruise on the shimmering waters of Lake Windermere and a picturesque train journey on the heritage Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway, as well as a narrow boat cruise on the Leeds & Liverpool canal; a wonderfully relaxing way to see the sights.

Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway
Get ready to step back in time when you board your train on this wonderful heritage railway line, situated in the lovely Leven Valley at the southern tip of Windermere.
The most popular journey is a trip up to Lakeside, where passengers can alight to take a cruise if they fancy on Lake Windermere.
At Haverthwaite station you will find plenty to enhance your experience, with a gift shop, tearoom, kid’s playground, and picnic area. Visitors can also take a stroll inside the large engine shed where the locomotives are maintained.

One of the best ways to experience the expansive beauty of England’s largest lake is by boat and there are many cruises exploring the 10.5 miles of Lake Windermere.
