Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway
Get ready to step back in time when you board your train on this wonderful heritage railway line, situated in the lovely Leven Valley at the southern tip of Windermere.
The most popular journey is a trip up to Lakeside, where passengers can alight to take a cruise if they fancy on Lake Windermere.
At Haverthwaite station you will find plenty to enhance your experience, with a gift shop, tearoom, kid’s playground, and picnic area. Visitors can also take a stroll inside the large engine shed where the locomotives are maintained.
Lake Windermere Cruise
One of the best ways to experience the expansive beauty of England’s largest lake is by boat and there are many cruises exploring the 10.5 miles of Lake Windermere.
Whether you board a historic steamer or a modern launch, you are certain to see the most spectacular views of mountain scenery and secluded bays.
