Attracting everyone from tourists to professional cyclists, the pull of Valkenburg is undeniably strong. With a traditional approach to modern living, the citizens are known for their warm welcome and the slower pace of life, which feeds into their delicious cuisine.
Zuid-Limburgse Steam Train
A steam train is a rarity even in a nation that’s given up the high speeds in favour of bicycles, but this charming railway hasn’t been so quick to move with the times, giving journeys aboard one of the most magnifcent engines around. A must see for any fans of trains, and maybe enough to convert those who feel otherwise, this wonderful trip is one to remember.
Jacques Chocolate Factory
Most industrial regions aren’t famous for their smells however in Belgium, home to the Jacques Chocolate Factory, the air is flled with the scent of sugar and melting cocoa. This factory produces a huge variety of chocolates, and the attached museum takes you through its 110 years of confectionary production.
