Nottingham
NottinghamKnown across the globe for its legendary connections to the famous outlaw Robin Hood, Nottingham also has plenty of other attractions to interest the coach holiday visitor. There’s Nottingham Castle, Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem - reputably the oldest pub in England, The Galleries of Justice Museum, the City of Caves attraction, and the fabulously designed Council House which is used for civic events.
Lincoln
LincolnSteeped in history, the cathedral city of Lincoln offers a range of shopping facilities on Steep Hill, local specialities include Chine, Haslet and of course the famous Lincolnshire Sausage, and a stunning castle which houses one of the four surviving copies of the Magna Carta.
A city like no other, Lincoln is situated in a gap of Lincoln Cliff and a visit here would not be complete without a trip to the simply stunning cathedral. This fine example of Gothic architecture was once the tallest in the world (until its spire fell) and is filled with intricate detail. Enjoy the beautiful cloisters, magnificent libraries and the memorial statue of Lord Alfred Tennyson, bearing the words of his poem ‘Flower in the Crannied Wall’ at this historic delight.
