Day 2

After breakfast at the hotel, we head back into central London for our included entrance to Buckingham Palace. During our visit we explore the magnificent State Rooms, which provide the setting for ceremonial occasions and official entertaining. All rooms are furnished with many of the greatest treasures from the Royal Collection to admire too, including paintings by Winterhalter and fine French furniture. Buckingham Palace

Buckingham Palace

Behind the doors of Buckingham Palace, you will find a working residence, a home for the Royal family and their servants, and a treasure trove of opulent antiques, rare fine arts, and ornate furniture.

Buckingham Palace is huge and it’s possible the average tourist has no knowledge of how many rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, and offices are inside. Let alone the swimming pool, cinema, post office, and police station! Out of the 775 rooms in total, a few of the most famous are The Grand Hall, the State Dining Room, and the White Drawing Room.

Did you know? Buckingham Place was built in 1703 for the Duke of Buckingham, hence the name! The Royal family eventually used the Palace as their official residence, and it was Queen Victoria who first ruled from Buckingham Place, hosting many Royal events throughout her reign.
