Not forgetting, stunning coastal walks and outstanding panoramas out to sea.
Located on the north Devon coast and in the heart of the Exmoor National Park, Lynton is famous for its dramatic natural beauty and untouched landscape in every direction.
The area is the perfect place to escape and relax in spectacular surroundings, with plenty to see and do within close proximity, including many delightful towns and villages including Ilfracombe, Barnstaple and Exmoor.
Lynton, the heart of the Exmoor National Park
Standing high on the rugged cliff face above the picturesque harbour village of Lynmouth, where the Exmoor National Parks meets the sea, Lynton is a charming village with a timeless appeal.
Its elevated position offers the most exquisite panoramic views, combining majestic seascapes, sweeping moorland and luring sheltered bays. Board the famous water-powered funicular cliff railway to enjoy the best views as you glide up and down the 862 foot track between the two towns.
If you’re a walking enthusiast you will love this area. A brief coastal walk along the South West Coast Path will take you to The Valley of Rocks, a dry valley with spectacular rock formations that runs parallel to the coastline. Scale the Castle Rock for the best vantage point to see the natural shape of the valley below.Back to top
