Lynton, the heart of the Exmoor National Park
Standing high on the rugged cliff face above the picturesque harbour village of Lynmouth, where the Exmoor National Parks meets the sea, Lynton is a charming village with a timeless appeal.
Its elevated position offers the most exquisite panoramic views, combining majestic seascapes, sweeping moorland and luring sheltered bays. Board the famous water-powered funicular cliff railway to enjoy the best views as you glide up and down the 862 foot track between the two towns.
If you’re a walking enthusiast you will love this area. A brief coastal walk along the South West Coast Path will take you to The Valley of Rocks, a dry valley with spectacular rock formations that runs parallel to the coastline.
