Yorkshire Dales

The Yorkshire Dales is an area of great natural beauty and a wonderful place to visit on a coach holiday. This area was designated as a national park in 1954 because of its beautiful rolling countryside, amazing wildlife and cultural heritage.

Consisting of over twenty main dales, all of which vary in character and atmosphere, its breath-taking scenery is why people return year after year.

Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway

Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway

The Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway is a preserved heritage railway that runs for four miles along part of the former Midland Railway route between the award-winning Bolton Abbey station and Embsay station, which was built in 1888. Both stations offer gift shops and tea rooms and most trains are hauled by beautifully-restored steam engines, the oldest one dating back to 1908.

A journey on the award-winning Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway is an unforgettable experience for everyone to enjoy!

Skipton Market

Skipton Market

Join us on a trip to one of the oldest and best markets in the country, located at the foothills of the Dales in Skipton. This delightful town, known as the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, continues to host a market under a charter granted over 800 years by King John.

Voted Best Market on many occasions, Skipton Market is a real treat on your coach break, with plenty of stalls ready to tempt you.

Narrowboat cruise on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal

Narrowboat cruise on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal

Enjoy a gentle cruise through the beautiful Yorkshire countryside with a narrowboat cruise along the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, departing from the lovely market town of Skipton. Along the way, listen to a hilarious recorded commentary from award-winning comedian Dave Spikey (of Phoenix Nights fame) to learn more about Skipton and the history of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal as well as other points of interest. Food and drink is also available to purchase on board.

Former stomping ground of the Brontë sisters and easily one of the quaintest villages in West Yorkshire, it’s not hard to see how Haworth’s meandering cobbled lanes gazing out towards the mysterious moors provided inspiration for the likes of Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre.

The Brontë Parsonage Museum is well worth a visit before you explore the lovely range of art, vintage and crafts shops – all crammed with curios and gifts made by local Yorkshire residents.

This historical yet vibrant district has plenty to offer its visitors on our coach breaks – being famous for its horticulture, grand buildings and graceful scenery with natural springs. Consisting of a Cathedral City, a World Heritage site, a Spa Town and spectacular natural beauty – a real gem is there to be discovered in the North of Yorkshire.

Harrogate and District has been voted the happiest place to live in the country for the past three years running hosting something for everyone with a wide range of attractions and events from enjoying afternoon tea at the renowned Betty’s Tea Room to the famous Harrogate Flower Show and the popular Great Yorkshire Show.
