Welcome to our special four-day break to the Cologne and Düsseldorf Christmas markets. With endless stalls offering local delicacies and thousands of bargains in a majestic setting, experience the most famous German markets during this unmissable break!
PLEASE NOTE: Price is per person and based on two people sharing a twin/double room. Single room supplements and upgrades are not included.

Itinerary
ItineraryDay 1 - Journey to Germany
We catch the ferry to Calais and continue to our hotel in Germany, stopping en route for an evening meal (not included).
Day 2 - Bonn & Cologne Christmas Markets
Today we travel to the Bonn Christmas Market, a festive hive of tasty food and spectacular gifts surrounded by the city’s Bottlerplatz and historic Minster. The ideal place to find that unique gift, the market offers an array of delightful hand-crafted treasures, including jewellery, ornaments, and knitwear. We then move on to Cologne Christmas Market to indulge in the special festive atmosphere, while enjoying roasted chestnuts and mulled wine and admiring the sparkle of Cologne’s beautiful lights and stunning cathedral. We have time for dinner at a restaurant of your choice before returning to the hotel (not included).
Day 3 - Aachen and Düsseldorf Christmas Markets
En route to Düsseldorf, we spend time in Aachen, a beautiful old city bordering Belgium and the Netherlands. This unique location is reflected in the impressive mixture of goods for sale at the Christmas market, including delicious French and Belgian foods as well as traditional German-made products. We then head to the Düsseldorf Christmas Markets, where we have time to enjoy the festivities with a scrumptious cup of glühwein in hand. We explore the Old Town quarters, adorned with rows of traditionally decorated huts and stalls offering a charming selection of unique handcrafted gifts. Later, there’s time for dinner at a restaurant of your choice before returning to the hotel (not included).
Day 4 - Journey home
We check out of our hotel and head back to Calais for our return ferry home.

Düsseldorf
DüsseldorfSnugly situated on the banks of the Rhine River, the German city of Düsseldorf has never kicked its provincial vibe. This fashionable and wealthy metropolis bursts with fascinating galleries and museums along with ‘the longest bar in the world’ situated in the Old Town. The first round is on you!
Every year Düsseldorf’s Christmas Market opens its ‘gingerbread houses’, with various individual themes to choose from. The streets come alive with glittering stalls decorated with huge Santa Claus hats, reindeer and coloured lights, along with chalet-style stalls selling arts, crafts and delicious food. Take a turn on the outdoor ice rink or stroll along the famous Königsallee avenue blanketed with a thousand brilliant lights.

We’ll stay at a selected hotel in Germany, such as the H+ Hotel in Cologne Brühl or Cologne Hürth. Each hotel features comfortable en-suite rooms as well as a bar and restaurant.

JG3 rating
Hotels with a JG3 rating tend to be a more formal style of hotel, often part of a hotel chain, or are very-welcoming family-owned properties. Generally, they offer a greater range of facilities and services, and bedrooms tend to be a little more spacious with additional features. Public areas are larger and include lounge seating, bar and restaurant with good quality food served either buffet style or waiter service.
