Celebrate Christmas in the traditional seaside resort of Bournemouth, where there’s plenty of time to relax and enjoy the festivities, including a lovely lunch with all the trimmings. We also explore some of the highlights of the area, with Christmas Eve spent amid the magical landscapes of the New Forest and a Boxing Day trip to pretty Salisbury included.

After joining the coach, we make our way to our hotel and check in.
Christmas Eve – The New Forest (Lymington & Lyndhurst)
On Christmas Eve we explore the New Forest, England’s smallest National Park, famous for its tranquil ambience and free roaming ponies. We visit the Forest’s capital of Lyndhurst and the coastal town and former smuggler’s port, Lymington, with its cobbled streets and attractive quayside.
Christmas Day
Christmas Day is a day of relaxation and leisure in Bournemouth, where our hotel provides a hearty Christmas lunch with all the trimmings as well as a light buffet dinner.
Boxing Day – Salisbury
On Boxing Day we head to Salisbury, often referred to as ‘the city in the countryside.’ As well as being a great place for shopping, the city is home to a fine medieval cathedral that boasts the tallest spire in Britain and an original copy of the Magna Carta.
27th December
After breakfast, we check out of our hotel and head for home.

We’ll stay at a selected hotel in Bournemouth (JG2 or JG3 rating). The comfortable rooms are en suite and other facilities include a bar and restaurant. Meals may be buffet style.

Upgrade - Royal Bath Hotel, Bournemouth
JG3 rating
The Royal Bath Hotel is nestled in secluded grounds on Bournemouth’s seafront. Opened on Queen Victoria’s Coronation Day in 1838, it was the first hotel in Bournemouth. Leisure facilities include an indoor pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room and gym (small charge applies). Meals are buffet style.

JG2 rating
Hotels with a JG2 rating are a mixture of larger hotels and privately owned properties. Décor and furnishings may be simple but are clean and well maintained. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities, TV and may have tea/coffee making facilities. Food may be buffet style in some of the larger hotels. Services may be limited but efficient.
JG3 rating
Hotels with a JG3 rating tend to be a more formal style of hotel, often part of a hotel chain, or are very-welcoming family-owned properties. Generally, they offer a greater range of facilities and services, and bedrooms tend to be a little more spacious with additional features. Public areas are larger and include lounge seating, bar and restaurant with good quality food served either buffet style or waiter service.
