Edinburgh is the truly delightful capital city of Scotland, from the atmospheric cobbled streets of the old town and the Royal Mile to the beautiful Georgian avenues of the new town. Edinburgh is a city of contrasts from shopping on renowned Princes Street to its many historic attractions including the world-famous Edinburgh Castle.
St AndrewsSt Andrews
Boasting a rich history and world-famous as a top golfing spot, the picturesque town of St Andrews is nestled on the east coast of Fife in Scotland. There is plenty to do, from a refreshing walk on one of the stunning beaches and exploring St Andrews Castle, to browsing the lovely shops and climbing to the top of the tower of the ancient cathedral, once the largest church in Scotland. This tower dates back to the 12th century and offers glorious views across St Andrews and Fife. Don’t miss the cathedral’s museum too, which displays medieval sculptures and relics which were found on the site.
Other attractions include St Andrews Aquarium, an underwater world full of fascinating creatures, and St Andrews Museum, housed in a Victorian mansion.
The small Scottish coastal town of Anstruther is the largest in a series of charming, old-fashioned fishing communities dotted along the stunning stretch of Fife coast known as the East Neuk. The town is popular with visitors due to the incredible fish and chips served at Anstruther Fish Bar, the winner of a number of awards including UK Fish and Chip Shop of the Year. Enjoy the locally-caught fish by the harbour as you savour the Scottish sea air and watch the fishing boats bobbing along. Make sure you keep your eyes peeled for seals, puffins and other wildlife too!Back to top
