The Edwardian harbour town of Folkestone and the classic backdrop of Canterbury provide the whimsical settings for a festive breakaway that takes in all the delights of Kent. Our four-day break offers the chance to explore the famous Canterbury Christmas Market, full of wonderful treats to kick off your Christmas, as well as an excursion to the charming port town of Sandwich.

Itinerary
ItineraryDay 1
From a morning pickup in your local area we travel to our hotel, arriving in time to enjoy dinner.
Day 2 – Sandwich & Folkestone at leisure
We head to the historic town of Sandwich. Once a major port, there are still many original medieval buildings dotted around this enchanting town, making it a delight to explore. Later we travel back to Folkestone for some free time before heading back to our hotel in the evening.
Day 3 – Canterbury
Today we visit the spellbinding city of Canterbury, home to the oldest cathedral in England, dating back to Norman times. There is plenty to explore within the city’s medieval walls, from quaint cobbled lanes to the lovely Christmas Market, full of stalls selling a tempting array of handmade Christmas decorations, unique gifts and tasty seasonal treats.
Day 4
After breakfast, we check out of our hotel and head for home.
Folkestone
FolkestoneAt the heart of the Garden Coast, lovely Folkestone has much to offer, with towering white cliffs to the East and broad sandy beaches to the West.
It's lovely harbour and wonderful sandy beaches make this a popular seaside resort, becoming one of the Cinque Ports in the 13th century.
Canterbury
CanterburyThe beautiful city of Canterbury is an absolute delight to explore, with its picturesque cobbled lanes and quaint timber-framed buildings. There are many fascinating sights to discover which point to the city’s rich history, from the medieval city walls to the oldest cathedral in England, dating back to Norman times.

The Grand Burstin Hotel is best known for its location, right next to Folkestone’s harbour and seafront. Simple yet comfortable throughout, all rooms have en-suite facilities and there is also a leisure club with a heated pool, gym and sauna (small charge applies). All meals are buffet style.

Hotels with a JG2 rating are a mixture of larger hotels and privately owned properties. Décor and furnishings may be simple but are clean and well maintained.
