Along the Sussex Heritage Coast stand the spectacular chalk cliffs at Beachy Head. The dramatic 530-ft high cliffs provide stunning views over Eastbourne and the English Channel.
Chichester
ChichesterEnjoy a visit to the attractive market town of Chichester, which began as a Roman settlement. Historic remains are still evident today in the town centre, spread around the market cross. Cobbled streets steeped in history, hidden gardens, secret waterways and a range of cafés, shops and art galleries are waiting to be discovered here.
Arundel
ArundelEnjoy one of West Sussex’s most picturesque towns, Arundel, which combines fascinating history with contemporary culture. Nestled around a fairy-tale castle, the pretty streets are full of cosy tearooms, art galleries and quirky antique shops. The castle, which has been home to the Dukes of Norfolk for centuries, dominates the skyline along with the Gothic Arundel Cathedral.
Alfriston
AlfristonThe lovely village of Alfriston is nestled in the valley of the River Cuckmere in the stunning South Downs National Park. There’s plenty to explore, from the famous St Andrews Church, known as the Cathedral of the South Downs, and the clergy house, the National Trust’s first property, to a wide range of charming gift shops, tearooms and galleries.
Lewes
LewesLewes is a vibrant market town surrounded by spectacular chalk cliffs. Stroll along the winding streets, discover the quirky antique shops and admire the historic buildings, including the Norman castle which looks over the town.
