Spend 14 blissful days relaxing aboard Magellan during this autumn cruise as you journey south to warmer climes. Fascinating calls at La Coruña, Lisbon and Casablanca make this a journey to remember. Join Magellan at Bristol Portbury for fascinating calls at the home of the Spanish Armada, La Coruña, ancient port Cádiz, and British outpost Gibraltar as you sail to Casablanca, from where you may choose to visit exotic Marrakech on an optional tour. Continuing north, Magellan visits the vibrant Portuguese capital of Lisbon and Leixões, for tours to wine-producing Porto, before an overnight stay at colourful Irish maritime gateway Cobh.

Day 1

Depart Bristol, UK
Depart: 1730hrs Board Magellan in Bristol, today, and settle in to your cabin as she prepares to set sail this afternoon.

Day 3

La Coruña, Spain
Arrive: 0900hrs Depart: 1600hrs Magellan's first mainland call is the historic Spanish port of La Coruña. Step ashore to explore the atmospheric medieval quarter, stroll the extensive seafront promenade, or perhaps take a shore excursion to Santiago de Compostela.

Day 5

Cádiz, Spain
Arrive: 0830hrs Depart: 2359hrs Ancient Cádiz, with its elegant squares, great cathedral and wonderful Botanical Garden, is a fascinating city. Step ashore to explore or to join today’s optional excursions which will include a trip to Seville (the Cradle of Flamenco) with its sumptuous cathedral, famous bell tower, wonderful Alcázar and bullring.

Day 6

Gibraltar, British Overseas Territory
Arrive: 0800hrs Depart: 1700hrs Spend today in the very British outpost of Gibraltar in the shadow of the famous Rock. Search out a bargain on Main Street, or take a cable car to the heights above to see the famous Barbary Apes, and the views across the Straits to North Africa and the Atlas Mountains.

Day 7

Casablanca, Morocco
Arrive: 0700hrs Depart: 2359hrs This morning Magellan docks in Casablanca, renowned for its connections with the celebrated movie, but today a world away from Humphrey Bogart’s sleepy town. Startlingly modern, but retaining a sense of the past in its ancient medina, the city offers wonderful beaches, some designer shopping and the fascination of the gigantic Hassan II Mosque. Today may also offer up the chance to join an unforgettable shore excursion to Marrakech to explore the tiny stores, alleys and hidden courtyards of the souks, and its vast, bustling square, the Djemaa El Fna.

Day 9

Lisbon, Portugal
Arrive: 0800hrs Depart: 1800hrs The Portuguese capital Lisbon is Magellan's next port. Stroll the narrow streets of the Alfama district, and climb aboard one of the city's famous trams. See the extraordinary Manueline architecture of the Belem quarter, and the striking modern buildings of the Baixa.

Day 10

Leixões, Portugal
Arrive: 0800hrs Depart: 1700hrs The Portuguese port of Leixões offers the opportunity to join an optional excursion to historic Oporto. Famed the world over for its port wine, Oporto stands atop the towering granite cliffs that rise above the River Douro, the two banks linked by several vertigo-inducing bridges. Why not visit the Ribeira district to take in one of the wine lodges for which the city is world-renowned?

Days 12-13

Cobh, Ireland
Arrive: 1200hrs (Day 12) Depart: 0800hrs (Day 13) Magellan's last call is the long, narrow harbour at Cobh, the maritime gateway to the capital of southwest Ireland, Cork, where shell spend the night tonight. Shore excursions here offer you the chance to discover this historic city, to head into the beautiful rolling countryside to fashionable Kinsale or to visit famous Blarney Castle, just north of the city, for a chance to kiss the Blarney Stone.

Day 14

Arrive Bristol, UK
Arrive: 0430hrs Bid farewell to Magellan and all your fellow travellers, today, as you disembark at the end of your cruise. Back to top

Passport requirements

British Citizens will need a full, 10-year passport to travel on this cruise.
