Arrive: 0800hrsDepart: 2400hrs huket, Thailand’s largest island, is Vasco's first stop. Step ashore to enjoy a day of Thai hospitality in this island paradise of luxurious developments and rubber plantations, and to get a taste of one of the world’s most famous holiday destinations in its bustling main town.
Day 7Colombo, Sri Lanka
Arrive: 0800hrsDepart: 2300hrs Today Vasco da Gama calls in the Sri Lankan capital, Colombo. Explore the restored Fort area of this bustling city, and the ancient street markets of Pettah, or perhaps take a shore excursion into the lush, temple-studded countryside.
Day 9Kochi, India
Arrive: 0600hrsDepart: 1700hrs Kochi (also known as Cochin) on India's southwestern coast is built across a series of islands. A trading port for centuries, the city has a distinctly European feel, especially in Fort Cochin. It is also the port from which you can depart on a three-day excursion overland to discover Delhi and Agra, home to the Taj Mahal, before re-joining Vasco da Gama in Mumbai.

Arrive: 0730hrsDepart: 2000hrs In the city once known as Bombay you'll see sweeping Marine Drive, the monumental arch of the Gateway of India and the colonial splendour of the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. Explore the grand former Prince of Wales Museum and the vast, Gothic fantasy of the Victoria Terminus railway station - all highlights on today's optional shore excursion.

Arrive: 0800hrsDepart: 1800hrs After yet more relaxing days aboard your floating home, you’ll arrive in Salalah, the Perfume Capital of Arabia. The Sultanate of Oman’s second city, this ancient settlement is also your gateway to a landscape of frankincense trees and coconut palms. Step ashore to explore or perhaps visit the ruins of ancient Khor Rori.

Arrive: 0400hrsDepart: 2000hrs From the Red Sea port of Safaga, an optional full-day excursion will take you to Luxor, once the ancient Egyptian capital Thebes. Discover the ruined temples of Luxor and Karnak, the vast columns of the Hypostyle Hall, and the awe-inspiring Valley of the Kings - where Howard Carter and Lord Carnarvon discovered Tutankhamun's tomb.

Day 24Ashdod, Israel
Arrive: 0600hrsDepart: 1800hrs Today Vasco ties up in Ashdod, a modern port-city and your gateway to Israel and the Holy Land. Step ashore to explore, or take an optional shore excursion to the coastal city of Tel Aviv, or into the Judean Hills to Jerusalem. Here you'll see the sights of this iconic city, including the Wailing Wall, the labyrinthine old city with its souks, and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, perhaps Christianity’s most important shrine.
Day 25Port Said, Egypt
Arrive: 0500hrsDepart: 2100hrs Early this morning, Vasco arrives in Port Said. Join an optional shore excursion to visit Cairo, explore Saladin’s great Citadel at Saqqara, site of the legendary Step Pyramid of Zoser, or step onto the plateau at Giza, to see the enigmatic Sphinx and the Great Pyramid - the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World that still survives.

Arrive: 1200hrsDepart: 1900hrs Cyprus’ second city welcomes you, today. Discover Limassol’s fascinating sights, excellent shopping, and compact old city - home to the city’s picturesque fishing harbour and yachting marina. Stroll through the streets of the Turkish Quarter surrounding the Castle, and don’t miss the historic Grand Mosque.
Day 28Kusadasi, Turkey
Arrive: 0800hrsDepart: 1800hrs Once a humble fishing village, Kusadasi is now one of Western Turkey’s most celebrated holiday havens. Stroll the harbour promenade, or visit the pleasant terraced gardens of tiny Pigeon Island, and discover the delights of the colourful old town. Alternatively, join a fascinating shore excursion to the ruins of Ephesus, some of the finest Greco-Roman archaeology in the entire Mediterranean.
Days 29-30Istanbul, Turkey
Arrive: 1300hrs (Day 29)Depart: 2000hrs (Day 30) Head out on deck as Vasco da Gama sails through the narrow strait of the Bosphorus to moor in Istanbul. Head ashore to discover the extraordinary Topkapi Palace, the Blue Mosque with its six minarets, and the great Byzantine church of Aya Sofya. Take in the colourful spice market, and visit the world’s largest covered bazaar, the vast Kapali Carsi. Vasco moors overnight, here, giving you plenty of time to explore and enjoy this fascinating, complex city.
Day 31Canakkale, Turkey
Arrive: 0800hrsDepart: 1600hrs Passing through the narrow Straits of the Dardanelles, Vasco stops in Canakkale. Step ashore to explore, or join one of our fascinating excursions. Cross the Straits to the Gallipoli Peninsula and the WWI battlefields that surround ANZAC Cove, or visit the site of the legendary battle of Troy, now guarded by a replica giant wooden horse.
Day 32Piraeus, Greece
Arrive: 0800hrsDepart: 2200hrs Today Vasco da Gama docks in Piraeus for a visit to beguiling, bustling Athens. Don't miss the chance to climb the Acropolis to the ruins of the Parthenon, one of the world's most enduring monuments, and an awe-inspiring window onto the city's rich Classical past.

Arrive: 0800hrsDepart: 2200hrs This morning, Vasco drops anchor off Santorini. The rocky crescent of the island’s shoreline traces the crater of the vast volcano that once erupted here, while the white buildings, cobbled lanes and blue-domed churches of the main town wait to be explored on the hillside above.
Day 35Valletta, Malta
Arrive: 0800hrsDepart: 1800hrs Today Vasco cruises into the stunning natural Grand Harbour of Valletta, capital of Malta. Step ashore to explore the surrounding streets, or to head into the island's rugged interior, perhaps to the haunting "Silent City" of Mdina. This evening, take the opportunity to enjoy the nightlife in one of the resorts of this famously welcoming holiday isle.

Arrive: 0700hrsDepart: 1300hrs The Sicilian town of Messina guards the strait between mainland Italy and the island at its 'foot'. This morning’s call will provide an opportunity to visit breathtaking Taormina, which clings to the slopes above a bay overlooked by a Saracen castle and by brooding Mount Etna, Europe’s highest active volcano.

Day 41Casablanca, Morocco
Arrive: 0700hrsDepart: 2400hrs This morning Vasco docks in Casablanca, forever associated with the film of the same name. Much of the city is now startlingly modern, but you'll find traditional life and traces of its long history in the medina, and gigantic Hassan II Mosque. Visit the wonderful beaches, and make the most of the designer shopping, or perhaps join an unforgettable shore excursion to Marrakech to explore the tiny stores, alleys and hidden courtyards of the souks, and its vast, bustling square, the Djemaa El Fna.
Day 43Lisbon, Portugal
Arrive: 0800hrsDepart: 1400hrs Lisbon, the Portuguese capital, is Vasco da Gama's last port before home. Wander up through the cobbled streets of the Alfama towards Sao Jorge Castle, relax by the fountain in Rossi Square or follow the shoreline along to where the ornate battlements of the Belem Tower guard the mouth of the River Tagus.
