Sail to Portugal, Spain, France and Italy
This wonderful voyage 'south to the sun' sees Magellan skirt the southern coast of Europe, venturing from the Atlantic into the Mediterranean. She'll pass the gorgeous cities of Lisbon and Barcelona, glitzy Cannes, Civitavecchia - near Rome - and the tiny British outpost of Gibraltar, before making one final stop in Cobh on her return to Bristol.
At 46,000-tonnes and with a passenger complement of around 1100, Magellan retains a sense of traditional cruising and small-ship intimacy thanks to the beautiful layout and tasteful contemporary style of her public areas. Her friendly, welcoming crew and cruise staff, and a 50-million-dollar refit ensure her position as a thoroughly modern, bright and supremely comfortable floating home.

Day One"All aboard!" for our wonderful cruise to the Mediterranean, as you join Magellan in Bristol in time for this evening's sailing.
Days Two to ThreeTwo days are spent at sea, enjoying life on board Magellan as you steam into ever warmer waters.
Day FourLisbon, the Portuguese capital and 'Gateway to the New Worlds', stands on the River Tagus, down which the great explorers sailed during the Age of Exploration. Enjoy an optional morning excursion through the maze of narrow, hilly streets of the Alfamar district - a striking contrast to the steel and glass of the modern city.
Days Five to SixSpend another relaxing couple of days at sea as Magellan sails along the Spanish coast.
Day SevenMagellan reaches magnificent Barcelona today. Step ashore to discover Gaudi's Modernista architecture, explore the medieval Barri Gotic quarter, the famous avenue La Rambla, or ride a cable car to Montjuic's Olympic sites. You'll soon discover why this vibrant city is one of Europe's must-see destinations.
Day EightToday Magellan docks in glitzy Cannes. Stroll along its world famous promenade, La Croisette, lined on one side by grand palais-hotels, and on the other by private beaches. Above the ancient harbour from which the city grew, the charming Old Town of Le Suquet surveys a beautiful scene of blue waters dotted with pleasure craft.
Day NineThis morning we reach Civitavecchia. Here you'll have the chance to take in some of the wonders of the 'Eternal City', Rome, where 3000 years of history sit side by side with one of Europe's most thriving metropolises, and where the Basilica of St Peter's is one of the most visited sites on Earth.
Days 10-11Spend another two days at sea as Magellan begins her return journey.
Day 12Magellan arrives at the tiny British territory of Gibraltar, set beneath the famous 'Rock', today. Spend the morning exploring the very British Main Street, and take the cable car to the summit of the Rock, not only for the tremendous views to the Atlas Mountains in Morocco, but also to meet the famous Barbary Apes.
Days 13-14Relax on board as Magellan spends two days at sea.
Day 15Today we reach Cork's long, narrow Cobh harbour. Shore excursions here offer you the chance to discover this historic capital of southwest Ireland, to head into the beautiful rolling countryside to fashionable Kinsale, famed for its fine food and sea-fishing, or to visit famous Blarney Castle, just north of the city, for a chance to kiss the Blarney Stone.
Day 16Magellan arrives back in Bristol at the end of a wonderful, and hopefully sun-drenched, cruise. Back to top
At 46,000-tonnes and with a passenger complement of around 1100, spacious Magellan retains a sense of traditional cruising and small-ship intimacy, thanks to the beautiful layout and tasteful contemporary style of her public areas, and of course the presence of her friendly, welcoming crew and cruise staff. A major refit in 2010 has ensured her position as a thoroughly modern, bright and supremely comfortable floating home, and she is a hugely welcome addition to the fleet.
Passenger accommodation is arranged on nine spacious decks served by eight lifts, wide corridors and stairways. Extensive teak decking adds to sense of spaciousness, and in addition to the extensive outdoor areas, there are several beautifully appointed lounges boasting panoramic picture windows. Two beautifully appointed dining rooms, the Waldorf and the Kensington, as well as a less formal buffet-style bistro that offers indoor and outdoor dining, will tempt you at mealtimes, and there are three lounge bars and three deck bars where you can while away a convivial hour or two. Other on-board amenities include a night club, a casino and the magnificent, multi-tiered Magellan Show Lounge. For the energetic and body-conscious, Magellan offers a beautifully appointed wellness centre, a gym, two pools and Jacuzzis. A well-stocked shopping gallery, internet centre and library can also be found on board.
Magellan's 15 categories of cabin and suite are graded according to size and position. Each cabin is air-conditioned, and has ample storage space, a safe, a TV, a hairdryer and private facilities with a shower. All ocean-view cabins have picture windows apart from eight Cat 6 cabins and 10 Cat 7 cabins, towards the front of the ship, which have portholes. Suites offer the added comforts of baths, seating areas and private balconies.Back to top
