Sail into three of the most beautiful Norwegian fjords and discover an epic landscape where dense forests cling to steep mountain slopes and crystal-clear waterfalls crash into deep, still waters. Cruise the length of Sognefjord to the tiny fjord-side village of Flam, follow Nordfjord deep into the Norwegian interior to Olden, which lies between the fjord and the immense icy cliff-face of the Briksdal Glacier, and navigate the twists and turns of Hardangerfjord to Eidfjord.As Magellan cruises to Norway you'll also have opportunities to spend days soaking up the culture (liquid and historic) in Dublin, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Shetland Isles as you stroll around the lovely little port of Lerwick, and exploring pretty, prosperous Stavanger.

Depart: 2000hrs Join Magellan in Liverpool and relax on board as you prepare to set sail.
Day 2Dublin, Ireland
Arrive: 0700hrsDepart: 1800hrs Crossing the Irish Sea, Magellan slips outside British waters to visit Dublin, today. The Irish capital has been a thriving cultural centre for centuries. Join the shoppers on Grafton and O’Connell Streets, visit historic Trinity College or head to one of the many cafes, coffee shops, bars and pubs to ’soak up’ the local colour.
Day 3At sea
Spend today relaxing at sea.
Day 4Lerwick, Shetland Isles
Arrive: 0700hrsDepart: 1600hrs This morning Marco Polo arrives in Lerwick, the rugged Shetland capital. Step ashore to explore a fascinating land filled with ancient legend traditional crafts and an incredible abundance of birdlife. pend time in the town, or join an optional excursion to the 3,000 year-old archaeological site at Jarlshof to discover its Bronze and Iron Age remains.
Day 5Stavanger, Norway
Arrive: 0830hrsDepart: 1430hrs The prosperous former Norwegian fishing capital, Stavanger, greets Magellan, today. Here, sleek ultramodern buildings like the Stavanger Conert Hall and the Norwegian Petroleum Museum contrast sharply with the pretty white-painted, clapboard houses and cobbles of Stavanger old town. Step ashore to wander through harbour-side Torget before we enjoy a breathtaking passage though Lysefjord, where the towering Preikestolen rock formation soars above the waters.
Day 6Olden, Norway
Arrive: 0900hrsDepart: 1630hrs Today Magellan calls at Olden on Nordfjord, the dropping-off point for a shore excursion, through the almost unimaginably beautiful countryside, to the famous Briksdal Glacier. This immense cliff of ice is actually just part of the vast icy mass of the Jostedalsbreen ice-pack, which covers the land above the eastern reaches of the fjord.
Day 7Flam, Norway
Arrive: 0800hrsDepart: 1900hrs Your first fjordland call is Bergen, an ancient city of medieval houses, cobbled streets, and the birthplace of composer Edvard Grieg. Visit the vibrant harbour and the fish market, stroll past historic Bryggen’s wooden warehouses and take the Floibanen funicular to the summit of ‘Mount’ Floyen.
Day 8Eidfjord, Norway
Arrive: 1200hrsDepart: 1900hrs Hardangerfjord stretches over 100 kilometres into the Norwegian interior, and this morning Magellan cruises into its stunning landscape. Discover a world where sheer, forested mountainsides plunge into still waters as you sail to Eidfjord, from where you can take an excursion to the towering Voringfossen waterfalls.
Days 9-10At sea
Spend two days relaxing as Magellan cruises home.
Day 11Arrive back at Liverpool
