Board Columbus this August Bank Holiday to begin an unforgettable summer cruise into some of Norway's most astonishing and tranquil scenery. Visit the historic trading centres of Amsterdam and Bergen, discover the icy expanse of the Briksdal Glacier, and see the stunning landscapes of vast Sognefjord, and (relatively) tiny Geirangerfjord, where sheer mountainsides plunge into still waters and pretty villages nestle in green pastures beneath forested slopes.
Weighing in at 63,000 tonnes and 250 metres, Columbus is the biggest ship in the CMV fleet. Originally launched in 1989 (by Audrey Hepburn), she was extensively refitted in 2015, and now offers 1500 passengers spacious accommodation and elegant communal areas arranged over 12 decks and topped off with the panoramic Dome Observatory.

Day OneBoard Columbus in Tilbury today, and settle in to your cabin as the ship prepares to set sail.
Day TwoThe delightful Dutch capital is Columbus' first call on your cruise to the fjords. Step ashore to explore Amsterdam's colourful streets, picturesque canals and renowned museums. Perhaps take to the water on a canal cruise to see the city from a different angle and hear stories from its past before you rejoin Columbus in the late afternoon.
Day ThreeSpend today relaxing, and getting to know the ship, her crew and your fellow passengers.
Day FourThe tiny village of Flam, at the inner end of Aurlandsfjord, welcomes Columbus today. Here you'll have the chance to board the world-famous Flamsbana Mountain Railway for the journey to Myrdal. Later this afternoon, the ship navigates her way into stunning Naeroyfjord where some of fjordland's prettiest scenery awaits.
Day FiveToday you’ll call at Olden. This tiny village of clapbpoard houses and rolling green pastures is the starting point for an excursion, through scenic countryside, to the famous Briksdal Glacier. This immense frozen cliff is actually just one of the 50 arms of the Jostedal Glacier, which covers almost 200 square miles of the surrounding landscape in an vast, slowly shifting blanket of ice.
Day SixExquisite Geirangerfjord is one of the smaller fjords, but is undeniably among the most beautiful. Today Columbus cruises its twists and turns through a landscape marked by crashing waterfalls and ancient villages like Hellesylt and Geiranger. Disembark in Geiranger to take in the beauty of it all, or to enjoy an optional excursion.
Day SevenCompact and friendly, Bergen was once a great trading city within the Hanseatic League. It remains Norway's second city and, despite being sheltered from the sea by its seven hills and outlying islands, is unashamedly nautical in outlook. Visit the vibrant harbour and fish market, stroll past the wooden warehouses of Bryggen and take the Floibanen funicular to the summit of 'Mount' Floyen.
Day EightA final day at sea, reliving the memories of your cruise holiday.
Day NineBid farewell to Columbus and all your fellow travellers, today, as you disembark at the end of your cruise. Back to top
