Full Itinerary

Day One

Board Astoria to cruise from Portsmouth along the English Channel as you start your wonderful cruise.

Day Two

This morning, Astoria docks in IJmuiden, and you'll be able to head into nearby Haarlem to explore. Here, the Gothic spire of the Grote Kirk van St Bavo cathedral watches over the patterned cobbles of the Grote Markt, and the surrounding streets are lined with medieval buildings. Visit the Frans Hals Museum, which houses a collection of over 760 paintings by Dutch artists from the 15th to 20th centuries.

Day Three

Relax on board and enjoy the ship's amenities as you head towards Norway.

Day Four

Today Astoria makes her way into Hardangerfjord, cruising to Eidfjord. Here you can go ashore to enjoy an optional excursion through the beautiful surrounding countryside, perhaps taking in the famous Voringfossen waterfalls.

Day Five

The remote village of Flam is set in one of Sognefjord's most remote corners. From here, you might enjoy an unforgettable excursion, boarding the world-famous Flamsbana Mountain Railway, for the beautiful journey to Myrdal, before joining a coach to travel through yet more breathtaking scenery.

Day Six

Geirangerfjord is one of the smallest but most beautiful fjords, its twists and turns marked by crashing waterfalls and ancient and beguiling villages. Disembark at Geiranger to enjoy an unforgettable overland excursion through the glorious scenery of the fjord and its surroundings.

Day Seven

This morning Astoria docks in Bergen. This ancient Hanseatic city of cobbled streets and medieval houses was the birthplace of composer Edvard Grieg. Visit the vibrant harbour and fish market, stroll past the wooden warehouses of Bryggen and take the Floibanen funicular to the summit of 'Mount' Floyen.

Day Eight

Relax and reminisce about your adventures with your fellow travellers as Astoria cruises south towards home.

Day Nine

The Dutch maritime city of Rotterdam has much to offer. World-class museums, the stunning architecture of the Erasmus Bridge and the remarkable Markthal food market. Explore the lovingly preserved Old Harbour and stroll past nearby Delfshavn's step-gabled houses and ancient wharves.

Day 10

Arrive back into Portsmouth and disembark at the end of an enchanting autumn fjords cruise. Back to top
