This wonderful cruise aboard Astoria from Poole offers you the chance to discover Reykjavik, the fascinating capital of Iceland, and also to explore the remote island outposts of Orkney, Shetland and the Faroes, and visit vibrant Belfast and historic Dunkirk.Your first call, in Belfast, give you the opportunity to explore the city's regenerated harbourside Titanic Quarter. From here Astoria turns north to cruise through waters teeming with marine life to colourful Reykjavik. Step ashore to wander the city and perhaps to head inland and watch the night skies for signs of the mysterious Aurora Borealis. Astoria will spend the night and better part of two days here, giving you plenty of time to explore. Calls in the tiny Faroes-Island capital, Torshavn, Shetland’s Lerwick and rugged Kirkwall on Orkney, reveal glorious landscapes filled with echoes of ancient legends, before your final stop - the French Channel port of Dunkirk.

Day 1Depart from Poole
Depart: 1500hrs Board Astoria in Poole today, and settle in to your cabin as she prepares to set sail.
Day 2At sea
Spend today relaxing, and getting to know the ship, her crew and your fellow passengers.
Day 3Belfast, Northern Ireland
Arrive: 0300hrs Depart: 1430hrs A first call in Belfast brings chances to explore both this unique city - where the gleaming Titanic Quarter is a must-see attraction - and the scenic Antrim countryside. Optional Excursion:Giant’s Causeway
Days 4 and 5At sea
Relax on board as Astoria spends two more days at sea.
Days 6 and 7Reykjavik, Iceland
Arrive: 0800hrs (Day Six) Depart: 1800hrs (Day Seven) Today we’ll arrive in Reykjavik, where the brightly painted wooden buildings contrast sharply with the stunning beauty of the city's setting beneath Mount Ejsa. Step ashore to explore; take the lift to the top of the Hallgrimskirkja Church for a panoramic view, or visit the fascinating Arbaer Folk Museum and the Saga Museum. During the evening, perhaps head out on a Northern Lights tour in the hope of catching sight of this ethereal phenomenon. Optional Excursion:‘Golden Circle’ Tour
Day 8At sea
Spend another day at sea as Astoria turns south towards the Faroe Islands.
Day 9Torshavn, Faroes
Arrive: 0800hrs Depart: 1800hrs Tiny, Toytown-like Torshavn is the capital of the Faroe Islands. Explore its confusion of lanes, narrow passages and black-tarred houses with green turf on the roofs, or join an excursion, perhaps to cross the famous Bridge across the Atlantic connecting the main island of Streymoy with the spectacular scenery and ancient wooden churches of smaller Eysturoy.
Day 10Lerwick, Shetland Isles
Arrive: 1200hrs Depart: 2200hrs Our next port is the Shetland capital, Lerwick. Spend time exploring this rugged but enchanting town, or join an excursion to the 3000 year-old archaeological site at Jarlshof, with its Bronze and Iron Age remains.
Day 11Kirkwall, Orkney Isles
Arrive: 0700hrs Depart: 1500hrs Today Astoria arrives in Kirkwall, Orkney’s historic capital. Wander the streets and marvel at magnificent St Magnus Cathedral, or join an excursion to fabled Scapa Flow, Churchill’s famous Barriers or the Italian Chapel. Optional Excursion:Skara Brae
Day 12At sea
Enjoy a last full day at sea.
Day 13Dunkirk, France
Arrive: 1000hrs Depart: 1800hrs Our final day is spent at the French port of Dunkirk, scene of the great rescue of World War Two. Spend your time here exploring the evacuation beaches, the Operation Dynamo Museum or the Dunkirk Memorial.
Day 14Arrive back at Poole
Arrive: 0945hrs Astoria arrives back in Poole this morning, concluding this wonderful cruise to Iceland. Back to top
