This glorious summertime cruise brings the opportunity to discover and explore the stunning ‘Land of Fire and Ice’, with calls at a quartet of exquisite Icelandic ports, including fascinating capital Reykjavík. Calls at remote island outposts of the Shetlands and the Faroes, as well as a stop at Dutch maritime gem Rotterdam, complete this wonderful cruise. Board Columbus at Tilbury and sail north via Rotterdam to charming Lerwick and toytown-like Tórshavn, respective capitals of the Shetland and Faroe Islands, before continuing to Iceland. Your first Icelandic port of call is the stunning natural harbour of Seyðisfjörður, one of the country’s most beautiful coastal locations, followed by Akureyri on the rugged north coast, home to a fascinating botanical garden. Continue to exquisite Ísafjörður, capital of the Westfjords, before a call at Reykjavík, the world’s most northerly capital, with its painted wooden buildings, completes this wonderful cruise.

Day 1
Depart London Tilbury, UKDepart: 1600hrs Board Columbus and settle in to your cabin before your cruise from Tilbury begins this afternoon.
Day 2
Rotterdam, NetherlandsArrive: 0800hrs Depart: 1700hrs Columbus reaches her first port of call today: the Dutch maritime city of Rotterdam. Step ashore to see the stunning architecture of the Erasmus Bridge and the remarkable Markthal food market. Browse the world-class museums, explore the lovingly preserved Old Harbour and stroll past nearby Delfshaven's step-gabled houses and ancient wharves.
Day 4
Lerwick, Shetland IsleArrive: 0700hrs Depart: 1700hrs Your next port is the Shetland capital, Lerwick. Spend time exploring this rugged but enchanting town, or join an excursion to the 3,000 year-old archaeological site at Jarlshof, with its Bronze and Iron Age remains.
Day 5
Tórshavn, FaroesArrive: 0900hrs Depart: 1700hrs Tórshavn, the tiny capital of the Danish Faroe Islands, is Columbus' destination today. The Faroes are a birdwatchers’ paradise in the heart of the Gulf Stream, and their inhabitants live surrounded by natural beauty. Discover Tórshavn’s confusion of lanes and narrow passages, black-tarred houses with turf roofs and modern centre, or join an excursion to another part of the islands, perhaps crossing the famous Bridge Across the Atlantic, which connects the main island of Streymoy with smaller Eysturoy.
Day 6
Seyðisfjörður, IcelandArrive: 1200hrs Depart: 1800hrs Today Columbus arrives in Iceland, stopping in the stunning natural harbour of Seyðisfjörður, one of Iceland's most beautiful coastal locations. From here ferries and a sub-ocean telephone cable connect Iceland to the outside world. Wander the streets lined with Norwegian-style houses or head inland to discover yet more breathtaking countryside.
Day 7
Akureyri, IcelandArrive: 0900hrs Depart: 1900hrs Akureyri, on Iceland's rugged north coast, is a thriving winter sports centre and home to a fascinating Botanical Garden. The area beyond is wondrously scenic, and today's excursion, to the Goðafoss Falls and volcanic Lake Myvatn, will highlight many of its delights.
Day 8
Ísafjörður, IcelandArrive: 0800hrs Depart: 1700hrs This morning Columbus arrives in tiny, exquisite Ísafjörður, the capital of the Westfjords area, and gateway to the magical, mystical land of West Iceland from which Norse sailors set out to discover Greenland and the New World.
Day 9
Reykjavík, IcelandArrive: 0700hrs Depart: 2000hrs Reykjavík is the world's northernmost capital. Its brightly painted wooden buildings contrast sharply with the stunning beauty of its setting beneath Mount Ejsa. Step ashore to explore, take the lift to the top of the Hallgrímskirkja church for a panoramic view, or visit the fascinating Arbaer Folk Museum and the Saga Museum.
Day 13
