Begin your visit to this spectacular area with a day in Alesund – the beautiful, unexpected home of the Sunnmore Museum - then head down the coast to navigate the vastness of Nordfjord on your way to the tiny village of Olden, and cruise the twists and turns of Hardangerfjord, through a landscape of deep forests and towering mountains, to Eidfjord. As well as opportunities to follow crystal-clear rivers to hidden waterfalls or ride a mountain train through the spectacular scenery on optional shore excursions, you'll also have time to soak up the natural beauty that surrounds the bustling port of Lerwick, capital of the Shetland Isles.

Day 1Depart from Belfast
Depart: 1800hrs Board Magellan in Belfast, settle in to your cabin and relax as she gets underway this evening.
Day 2At sea
Spend today relaxing on board, and getting to know the ship, her crew and your fellow passengers.
Day 3Lerwick, Shetland Isles
Arrive: 0700hrs Depart: 1600hrs Magellan's first port is the Shetland capital, Lerwick. This rugged, enchanting town is your gateway to a land of ancient legend, traditional crafts and an incredible abundance of bird-life. Wander the town, or join an excursion to the 3,000-year-old archaeological site at Jarlshof to discover its Bronze and Iron Age remains.
Day 4Alesund, Norway
Arrive: 0800hrs Depart: 1800hrs Alesund, with its natural harbours lined with pastel-painted, gabled and turreted buildings, is an unexpectedly beautiful port. Don't miss the town's fascinating Sunnmore Museum, which offers insight into life in this part of the world through the ages and boasts a fine boat collection.
Day 5Olden, Norway
Arrive: 0700hrs Depart: 1900hrs Today you’ll call at Olden. This is the starting point for an excursion, through scenic countryside, to the famous Briksdal Glacier. This immense cliff of ice is actually just one of the 50 arms of the Jostedalsbreen Glacier, which looms over the entire eastern reach of the Nordfjord.
Day 6Eidfjord, Norway
Arrive: 1200hrs Depart: 1900hrs Relax and soak up the spectacular scenery as Magellan cruises along Hardangerfjord to Eidfjord. Here you can go ashore to enjoy an optional excursion through the beautiful surrounding countryside, perhaps taking in the famous Voringfossen waterfalls.
Days 7 and 8At sea
Spend two days relaxing on board and Magellan cruises back towards the UK
Day 9Greenock, Scotland
Arrive: 0900hrs Depart: 2200hrs As Magellan arrives in the Scottish port of Greenock, you'll have the chance to join an excursion to one of two famous and fascinating cities. In Edinburgh, explore the Royal Mile, shop on Princes Street or take in city views from the ancient Castle's ramparts. In Glasgow, discover 'Scotland's style capital' and its fascinating blend of culture, architecture and design.
