Begin your visit to this spectacular area with a day in Alesund – the beautiful, unexpected home of the Sunnmore Museum - then head down the coast to navigate the vastness of Nordfjord on your way to the tiny village of Olden, and cruise the twists and turns of Hardangerfjord, through a landscape of deep forests and towering mountains, to Eidfjord.As well as opportunities to follow crystal-clear rivers to hidden waterfalls or ride a mountain train through the spectacular scenery on optional shore excursions, you'll also have time to explore the Belfast’s historic harbour and Titanic Quarter, and soak up the natural beauty that surrounds the lovely little port of Lerwick, capital of the Shetland Isles.

Day 1Depart from Greenock
Depart: 2200hrs Board Magellan in Greenock, today, settle in to your cabin and relax as your cruise begins.
Day 2Belfast, Northern Ireland
Arrive: 0700hrs Depart: 1800hrs Magellan's first call, in Belfast, gives you the chance to explore both this unique city - where the gleaming 'prows' of Titanic Belfast in the city's Titanic Quarter is an absolute must-see - and the scenic countryside beyond. Shore excursions available here might include a trip to the vast ’stone staircase’ of the Giant’s Causeway on County Antrim's north coast.

Spend today relaxing on board.
Day 4Lerwick, Shetland Isles
Arrive: 0700hrs Depart: 1700hrs Magellan's second port is the Shetland capital, Lerwick. This rugged, enchanting town is your gateway to a land of ancient legend, traditional crafts and an incredible abundance of bird-life. Wander the town, or join an excursion to the 3,000-year-old archaeological site at Jarlshof to discover its Bronze and Iron Age remains.
Day 5Alesund, Norway
Arrive: 1200hrs Depart: 2000hrs Alesund, with its natural harbours lined with pastel-painted, gabled and turreted buildings, is an unexpectedly beautiful port. Don't miss the town's fascinating Sunnmore Museum, which offers insight into life in this part of the world through the ages and boasts a fine boat collection.
Day 6Olden, Norway
Arrive: 0700hrs Depart: 1700hrs Today you’ll call at Olden. This is the starting point for an excursion, through scenic countryside, to the famous Briksdal Glacier. This immense cliff of ice is actually just one of the 50 arms of the Jostedalsbreen Glacier, which looms over the entire eastern reach of the Nordfjord.
Day 7Eidfjord, Norway
Arrive: 1200hrs Depart: 1900hrs Relax and soak up the spectacular scenery as Magellan cruises along Hardangerfjord to Eidfjord. Here you can go ashore to enjoy an optional excursion through the beautiful surrounding countryside, perhaps taking in the famous Voringfossen waterfalls.

Spend two days relaxing on board.
Day 10Arrive back at Greenock
Arrive: 0900hrs Say goodbye to Magellan, her crew and your fellow passengers as she arrives in Greenock, today, and you disembark at the end of a wonderful cruise. Back to top
