Arrive: 0800hrs Depart: 1700hrs Columbus's first stop is the Dutch maritime city of Rotterdam. Step ashore to see the stunning architecture of the Erasmus Bridge and the remarkable Markthal food market. Browse the World-class museums, explore the lovingly preserved Old Harbour and stroll past nearby Delfshaven's step-gabled houses and ancient wharves.
Day 5Leixoes, Portugal
Arrive: 0800hrs Depart: 1600hrs A call at the Portuguese port of Leixoes gives you the chance to step ashore and perhaps join an optional shore excursion to the historic city of Oporto, in its pretty setting on the River Douro. The excursion will include a visit to one of the Port wine lodges and time for sightseeing.
Day 8Ponta Delgada, Azores
Arrive: 0800hrs Depart: 1800hrs As Columbus arrives in the verdant, mid-Atlantic Azores archipelago, there’s a welcome opportunity to step ashore in historic Ponta Delgada. The city has been a stopping-off point for transatlantic sailors down the centuries.

Arrive: 0800hrs Depart: 2000hrs Columbus spends today in the bustling, colourful capital of Barbados, Bridgetown, giving you time to head ashore in search of exquisite beaches, swanky resort-hotels and exclusive shore-side restaurants.
Day 16St George's , Grenada
Arrive: 0800hrs Depart: 1800hrs The gorgeous Spice Island of Grenada - famed for its nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger - welcomes you today. Wander the maze-like streets and visit the horseshoe harbour of the island's British Colonial capital, St George's.
Day 19Cartagena, Colombia
Arrive: 0700hrs Depart: 1400hrs Cartagena is a Spanish colonial treasure on the Colombian coast. Visit Downtown to discover streets and squares lined by brightly coloured buildings and bougainvillea-covered mansions, elegant balconies and magnificent churches.
Day 20Colon, Panama
Arrive: 0900hrs Depart: 2300hrs As Columbus calls at Colon on the Caribbean side of the Panama Canal, there's a chance to cross by coach to the Pacific and visit Panama City itself. Alternatively, stay aboard as Columbus heads through the first stretch of the canal into Gatan Lake, a vast, man-made stretch of water that's also among the most important ecological zones in the Americas.

Arrive: 0700hrs Depart: 1800hrs After a week of balmy days at sea, the breathtaking islands of French Polynesia are a colourful sight. Taiohae harbour, on tiny Nuku Hiva in the Marquesas Isles, is your first chance to absorb the atmosphere of this languid, tropical world.
Days 33-34Pape'ete, French Polynesia
Arrive: 1900hrs (Day 33) Depart: 2100hrs (Day 34) Perhaps the most famous South Pacific island of all is idyllic Tahiti. Its capital, Pape'ete, is home to historic Le Marche market, the lush Vaipaha Gardens and a perfect lagoon, and seems to have appeared straight out of a Gauguin painting.

Arrive: 0700hrs Depart: 2200hrs Cross the International Date Line before you call in Auckland, the glittering 'City of Sails' on New Zealand's North Island. Arrive: 0800hrs Depart: 2300hrs Today, Columbus anchors off Airlie Beach, the pretty mainland port across the water from the idyllic Whitsundays archipelago (named after the day Captain Cook arrived there in 1770). Spend a lazy day here, or take a boat to the islands, where the snorkelling and beaches are both world class, and where luxurious resorts offer visitors an array of additional comforts to complement your glorious surroundings.

Arrive: 0500hrs Depart: 2000hrs Continue your Australian exploration as Columbus stops in the beautiful anchorage of Yorkey’s Knob, about 40 miles north of Cairns. There will be opportunities to take a glass-bottomed boat to a coral cay - as this is the stopping-off place for the extraordinary Great Barrier Reef - or head inland on an excursion into the magnificent tropical rainforest of the Atherton Tablelands.

Arrive: 0700hrs Depart: 2200hrs In Singapore, the remnants of the city's rich history - in Little India, China Town, the Colonial District and Raffles Hotel - meet glitzy malls and Marina Bay's futuristic wonders. Shop, sightsee or join optional excursions to experience it all.

Arrive: 0900hrs Depart: 2000hrs In the ancient coastal city of Malacca (now called Melaka) 600 years of history have shaped a vibrant, beautiful city. See the red pillars of Chinatown and the Dutch colonial Stadthuys, the fortified Porta de Santiago gateway and the churches of St Peter and St Paul (one-time burial place of Jesuit missionary St Francis Xavier).

Arrive: 0600hrs Depart: 1900hrs Cruising along the Malaysian coast, Columbus calls at historic Port Klang, gateway to Kuala Lumpur. The Malay capital itself boasts the sky-piercing Petronas Towers among its spectacular sights, and a shore excursion will reveal this buzzing, cosmopolitan city, where the preserved Old Railway Station contrasts with glitzy new developments.

Arrive: 0800hrs Depart: 1800hrs Colourful, Malaysian Penang is a feast for the senses. Step ashore to discover sensational street food, George Town's traditional Chinese shophouses, stunning beaches and breathtaking tropical gardens.

Arrive: 0800hrs Depart: 2300hrs Phuket is an island paradise with luxurious developments, rubber plantations and a bustling main town. Enjoy a last taste of the east, or perhaps a last visit to an idyllic beach, before Columbus heads across the Andaman Sea and into the Indian Ocean.

Arrive: 0800hrs Depart: 2300hrs Today Columbus calls in the Sri Lankan capital, Colombo. Explore the restored Fort area of this bustling city, and the ancient street markets of Pettah, or perhaps to take a shore excursion into the lush, temple-studded countryside.

Arrive: 0800hrs Depart: 2000hrs Male, island capital of the idyllic Maldives archipelago, is a wonderfully colourful place dominated by the dome of the Friday Mosque. It's also your last Asian call as Columbus heads towards Africa.
Day 79Victoria, Mahe, Seychelles
Arrive: 0800hrs Depart: 1800hrs The tiny capital of the Seychelles, Victoria, is beautifully set against a backdrop of forested hills. Step ashore to explore the streets of the town, visit the verdant Morne Seychellois National Park nestled in the rugged interior or head to one of the stunning beaches to relax on the white sands and in the crystal-clear, azure waters.
Days 82-83Mombasa, Kenya
Arrive: 0700hrs (Day 82) Depart: 1800hrs (Day 83) Columbus arrives on the East African mainland, to spend two days in Mombasa, Kenya’s second-largest city. From here you'll be able to join one of your cruise’s most memorable optional shore excursions, and spend a night in the Tsavo East Park, enjoying close-up encounters with some of the world’s most endangered and revered species on guided game drives. Alternatively, enjoy guided tours of Mombasa’s fascinating Old Town and historic Fort Jesus, or head to the spectacular beaches.
Day 88Durban, South Africa
Arrive: 0800hrs Depart: 1800hrs Cosmopolitan Durban, with its surfers’ beaches and its seafront boulevard, welcomes Columbus today. The optional shore excursions available will include the chance to visit the Shakaland Cultural Village, where the traditions of the Zulu nation are celebrated and explained, and the chance to join an overnight safari-stay in world-famous Kruger National Park (re-joining the ship in Richards Bay tomorrow).

Arrive: 1200hrs Depart: 1800hrs East London is a city far removed from its UK namesake. Head ashore to discover beaches like Nahoon and Cove Rock, catch glimpses of Victorian grandeur amid its colourful attractions, and perhaps choose from some fascinating shore excursions to locations like lush Tsitsikamma National Park or the famed Addo Elephant National Park - on your day here.
Days 91-92Cape Town, South Africa
Arrive: 0600hrs (Day 91) Depart: 1300hrs (Day 92) It's worth rising early today so you can head out on deck to watch as Columbus arrives in Cape Town - one of the world’s most beautiful port-cities. While here, why not take in the view (weather permitting) from the summit plateau of Table Mountain, visit poignant Robben Island. or browse the shops and stores along the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront? There will also be the chance to follow the Garden Route east across the Western Cape on an overnight optional excursion.
Day 96Tristan da Cunha, BCC
Arrive: 0800hrs Depart: 1700hrs Almost halfway between South Africa and the South American coast, Tristan is a tiny cluster of volcanic islands and one of several British Overseas Territories dotted across the South Atlantic. Here, some 250 inhabitants share the world's most remote island location with colonies of fur seals, rockhopper penguins, albatrosses and the world's smallest flightless bird. The post office at the archipelago's main settlement, Edinburgh of the Seven Seas, plies a lucrative trade in much sought-after postage stamps.

Nestled between the ocean and lush tropical mountains, it's known as the Marvellous City, and its famous landmarks include the 30-metre statue of Christ the Redeemer and majestic Sugar Loaf Mountain. Arrive: 0800hrs Depart: 2400hrs Today's call in Brazil’s former colonial capital, Salvador da Bahia, will give you a glimpse of the colour and passion of a city that fuses the cultures of South America, Africa and Southern Europe. The historic Ciudade Alta and Ciudade Baixa (Upper and Lower cities) are centred on the cobbled streets of the Pelourinho, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Witness impromptu displays of capoeira, the uniquely Brazilian martial art, and experience the mystique of Candomble, the ancient Afro-Brazilian religion.

Startlingly modern, but retaining a sense of the past in its ancient medina, the city offers wonderful beaches, some designer shopping and the fascination of the gigantic Hassan II Mosque. Today also offers up the chance to join an unforgettable shore excursion to Marrakech to explore the tiny stores, alleys and hidden courtyards of the souks, and its vast, bustling square, the Djemaa El Fna.
