Day OneFly to Munich or Innsbruck and head through the countryside into Austria to Hotel Krone. Our Tyrolean Christmas is based in the traditional village of Oberperfuss, set beneath the Rangger Kopfl mountains - 15 km west of regional capital Innsbruck and close to the well-known cross-country skiing Mecca of Seefeld.
Day TwoExplore the beautiful city of Innsbruck, with its elegant main street, Maria-Theresien-Strasse. Look for unusual gifts among the wooden stalls of the colourful Christmas Market, nestled beneath the famous copper-tiled 'Golden Roof'. Be sure to stop for 'coffee and cake' at one of countless cafes in the Altstadt, this sparkling Alpine jewel's magical heart.
This evening enjoy a guided pre-dinner festive 'lantern walk' in the company of your hosts.
Day Three (Christmas Eve)Today's optional excursion offers the chance to visit the alpine town of Kitzbuhel, and to board the Zell am See steam train as it huffs and puffs its way to Mittersill.
Upon returning to Oberperfuss, enjoy a traditional Christmas Eve snack of gluhwein (mulled wine) and cookies, before sitting down to a festive Austrian dinner this evening.
Day Four (Christmas Day)Today, pay a visit to the delightful nearby resort of Seefeld, before sitting down to a three-course Christmas Day turkey lunch at your hotel. After a relaxed afternoon, dinner will also be served.
Day Five (Boxing Day)Today we offer the chance to visit Rattenberg and its quaint pedestrianised centre. With just 400 inhabitants it is Austria's smallest historic town, and is famous for its crystal glass stores. Those who wish to can opt to visit the unusual, but fascinating and spectacular, Swarovski Crystal Worlds. See crystals large and small, and artworks by the likes of Andy Warhol and Salvador Dali, in a state-of-the-art subterranean space - one of the most striking sights of the whole holiday.
Round off a wonderful festive break with a four-course farewell dinner at the hotel, accompanied by traditional Tyrolean live music.
Day SixBid 'auf wiedersehen' to your Austrian hosts, before you transfer back to Munich for your return flight. Back to top
