Itinerary

Day 1

Fly to Prague - This festive break begins with a flight to Prague, where you’ll be met by your friendly, local tour manager.   After being transferred to your centrally located hotel, the rest of the day will be free to settle in or explore before dinner.  

Day 2

Christmas Eve – Included walking tour of Prague and traditional Czech dinner - It’s Christmas Eve, and following breakfast, you’ll set off on a guided walking tour of Prague, a city that feels especially magical during the festive season.  Your first stop will be the Old Town Square, home to the Astronomical Clock, one of the oldest in the world, which dates back to the 15th century. If you arrive on the hour, you can watch the famous clockwork show, where figures of the Apostles and other symbolic statues come to life. Admire the Gothic spires of the Týn Church and the colourful Baroque facades surrounding the square.   From the square, you’ll stroll through the cobblestone streets toward the Charles Bridge, another of Prague’s most famous landmarks. Lined with 30 statues of saints, this 14th-century stone bridge spans the Vltava River and offers beautiful views of the city’s skyline, including Prague Castle. Your tour manager will share stories of the bridge’s construction, legends of the saints depicted in its statues, and tales of medieval Prague.  The tour concludes at the Prague Christmas market in the pretty old town. Browse the wooden chalets packed with handmade Czech gifts, enjoy a enjoy a cup of hot mulled wine (svařák), or taste seasonal delicacies like trdelník, a sweet, rolled pastry dusted with sugar and cinnamon  As evening falls, you’ll return to your hotel to enjoy a candlelit dinner, the ideal finale to a memorable Christmas Eve. 

Day 3

Christmas Day – Morning at leisure, lunch, Christmas markets, and sightseeing cruise dinner - Start your Christmas morning at leisure, enjoying a relaxed breakfast at your hotel. Take the time to sleep in, sip a hot drink, or wander the nearby streets, which are particularly magical during the festive season. Many of Prague’s Christmas markets remain open on Christmas Day, so if you feel like a festive stroll, you can explore some of the stalls.  In the early afternoon, return to the hotel for a special Christmas lunch, accompanied by the sounds of a live harp performance. After lunch, you’ll have some free time to visit the Christmas markets again or stroll along the streets of the old town.   In the evening, you’ll travel to Vltava River to board a sightseeing cruise with dinner. This is a perfect way to experience Prague from a new perspective, as the city’s historic skyline and illuminated bridges, including the Charles Bridge, reflect off the water. While you enjoy your meal on board, you’ll glide past landmarks such as Prague Castle, St. Nicholas Church, and the National Theatre, all beautifully lit against the night sky.

Day 4

Boxing Day – Day at leisure - On Boxing Day, you have a full day to relax or explore Prague independently. When you’ve had breakfast, perhaps walk around the streets at your own pace or revisit your favourite sights from earlier in the tour.   You might want to head to Wenceslas Square, lined with shops, cafés and galleries or Prague Castle grounds, where you can meander through courtyards and gardens. Lessert Town (Malá Strana) is another area worth exploring with quaint shops and Baroque buildings.   Enjoy your final dinner this evening.

Day 5

Fly back to the UK - After your last breakfast, check out of the hotel and travel back to the airport for your flight home.  Back to top

Hotel transfer times

The transfer time from the airport to your hotel is approximately 45 minutes.

Special requirements

If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.

Disabled access

The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting. If you are bringing a wheelchair, please let us know at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

Itinerary changes

Occasionally, for operational reasons, we may have to change the order of the excursions on your holiday. The final day-by-day itinerary will be confirmed on your Final Travel Documents, which you will receive approximately three weeks prior to your departure.

Combining hotel transfers

We sometimes need to combine transfers to and from your hotel. We always try to keep any wait to a minimum, but you may be asked to wait at the airport for up to an hour, while other incoming flights arrive, before the transfer to your hotel. Similarly, we may need to transfer you back to the airport up to three hours before your flight home departs.
