Historic cities and ports
Kiel… Tallinn… St Petersburg… Helsinki… Stockholm… Copenhagen… Just the names of the Baltic’s most famous cities conjure up images of elegant palaces and public buildings, pretty cobbled streets, and half-remembered history. As Marco Polo leaves London Tilbury behind, and cruises north to Hull then east, through the Kiel Canal and around the Baltic you’ll have time to spend lazy days and sunny evenings relaxing on board, and to step ashore to discover these fascinating cities before returning to Hull.Wander Tallinn’s ancient upper and lower towns, and spend two days in St Petersburg - Russia’s most obviously European city. See Helsinki's elegant and eclectic architecture, and explore the narrow lanes of Stockholm’s Gamla Stan on a shore excursion from Nynashamn. Stroll the harbourside paths past the Little Mermaid and through the octagonal courtyard of the Danish Royal Palace into the heart of Copenhagen, perhaps head into the heart of Germany, too, on an unforgettable optional shore excursion to the iconic German capital, Berlin.
