Norway's glorious coast

Join Columbus on this wonderful autumn cruise to Western Norway, one of the world’s most beguiling regions. Visits to two stunning fjords and their shoreside settlements, along with calls at the colourful city of Bergen and vibrant Dutch capital Amsterdam make this a trip to remember.Set sail from London Tilbury across the Channel to Amsterdam, with its pretty canals and cobbled streets. Cruise north to Norway, and along the Hardangerfjord to Eidfjord, which is nestled in a breathtaking location, where dense forests cling to towering mountain slopes high above crystal-clear waters. Continue along the dramatic Sognefjord to Flåm, home of the famous mountain railway. An enjoyable stop at Bergen, its pretty old town lined with wooden buildings, completes this wonderful cruise.

Itinerary

Day 1

Depart from London Tilbury, UK
Depart: 1600hrs Board Columbus in Tilbury, today, settle in to your cabin and relax as your cruise begins.

Day 2

Amsterdam, Netherlands
Arrive: 0830hrs Depart: 1630hrs Spend today exploring Amsterdam's canals, flower markets and museums. Wander cobbled streets lined with step-gabled buildings, stop for a drink and a bite to eat in one of the city's many excellent bars, cafes and restaurants, or take to the water on a canal cruise.

Day 3

At sea
Spend your first full day at sea enjoying Columbus' excellent on-board facilities and getting to know the crew and your fellow passengers.

Day 4

Eidfjord, Norway
Arrive: 0700hrs Depart: 1530hrs Enjoy spectacular scenery as Ciolumbus cruises up 100km-long Hardangerfjord to Eidfjord. Here you can go ashore to enjoy an optional excursion through the beautiful surrounding countryside, perhaps taking in the famous Vøringfossen waterfalls.

Day 5

Flåm, Norway
Arrive: 0800hrs Depart: 2000hrs Columbus continues her fjords cruise today, navigating through the narrow fingers of mighty Sognefjord. She’ll call at the village of Flåm, stunningly set in one of the fjord’s remotest corners. Here you might head ashore and board the world-famous Flåmsbana Mountain Railway for the rail journey to Myrdal, one of the most unforgettable optional excursions of your entire cruise.

Day 6

Bergen, Norway
Arrive: 0700hrs Depart: 1600hrs This morning Columbus arrives in Bergen, one of the most beautifully located cities in the world. This ancient fishing and trading port, spectacularly set amid hills and fjords, is also one of Northern Europe’s most enjoyable destinations. Step ashore to explore the harbour and fish market, discover Bryggen’s historic wooden warehouses or ride the funicular to the top of Fløyfjellet above the city.

Day 7

At sea
Spend a final day relaxing on board, and looking back over the memories of your Western Norway cruise.

Day 8

Arrive in London Tilbury, UK
Arrive: 0800hrs Today Columbus cruises back into Tilbury, and you'll disembark at the end of your voyage. Back to top
