In May 2018, the city of Liverpool hosts the start of the Three Festivals Tall Ships Regatta. Enjoy the festival atmosphere and maritime celebrations, culminating in the famous 'Parade of Sail.' With their graceful lines, huge masts and miles of rigging bedecked with colourful bunting, it's a truly breath-taking and unforgettable sight.

Leaving the local area this morning, we journey to Liverpool and our hotel, arriving in plenty of time to settle in and relax before dinner is served.
After breakfast we head into Liverpool which, with its waterfront boasting UNESCO World Heritage status, is a truly fitting location for the start of the Three Festivals Tall Ships Regatta. This morning we include a short panoramic sightseeing tour to introduce you to this fabulous city and then the rest of the day is at leisure.
Head to Liverpool Waterfront with its network of historic docks and enjoy the fun-filled maritime festival including music, entertainment and firework displays along the iconic River Mersey in celebration of the visiting Tall Ships Fleet. You may even have the chance to board some of the beautiful ships to taste life on board! And don't miss the iconic Albert Dock with the largest collection of Grade I listed buildings in Britain, and Pier Head with its majestic Three Graces and the famous Ferry 'cross the Mersey.
Liverpool is also home to the largest collection of museums and galleries in the UK outside London - many of them free to enter - and a host of award-winning attractions. Perhaps visit the Merseyside Maritime Museum with its fascinating exhibition, Titanic and Liverpool: The Untold Story; the Walker Art Gallery and TATE Liverpool with their celebrated art collections; the World Museum, temporary home to China's Terracotta Warriors (payable locally); or The Beatles Story, dedicated to one of the 20th Century's most iconic bands.
Enjoy the evening's entertainment as well as an early evening meal (payable locally) before we return to our hotel late this evening.
After a leisurely breakfast we'll return to Liverpool this morning. The Parade of Sail takes place this afternoon with the whole fleet departing in convoy, bidding a grand farewell. It's a really memorable sight. Once the last ship has sailed, we depart for home, arriving back in the local area by mid-to-late evening depending on the traffic and distance to be travelled.Back to top

You will be staying in a good hotel in the North West such as the Holiday Inn, Warrington or Ramada, Haydock. All rooms will have private facilities, TV, telephones and tea- and coffee-making facilities, and all hotels will have good restaurant and bar facilities.Back to top

The final entertainment/schedule for the Tall Ships Regatta was not yet confirmed at the time this package went on sale.
Coach seating arrangements
Your Tour Manager will have allocated seats for you on the main coach in advance, taking into consideration any special requests wherever possible, and will advise you where to sit as you board the coach. This will be your seat for the duration of the tour. (Seats are not allocated on any connecting services to and from the main coach.)
Joining your holiday
Your final travel documents, including the exact time and place of departure, will be sent to you approximately 10 days prior to departure, providing all payments have been made. We are unable to give exact departure times before this.
Where meals are not included, your Tour Manager will ensure there are suitable stops made for you to purchase and enjoy lunch and/or dinner each day.
If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.
The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting. If you are bringing a wheelchair, please let us know at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.Back to top
